Mavchamp Posted September 10, 2022 Author Share Posted September 10, 2022 Marshall finished with 338 yards rushing and 132 passing. JQ Davis (168) and Bird Robinson (126) are proving to be a two-headed monster in the backfield. Collier Slone just keeps on improving. 11-21 for 132 yards passing. 2 Td's. His short game could be lethal. He's showing that could be his strength. He's still struggling with consistency on the long pass...but he just keeps on getting better. He's turning out to be a very good game manager. Defense was pretty nasty tonight. Held Henderson to 73 yards rushing.... 96 passing.....and some of that was garbage yards in the fourth quarter. In spite of the domination.... we still showed we have things we need to work on. Pre-snap penalties continue..... still having troubles on some of the snaps. We fumbled it 2-3 times and were lucky enough to recover them all. We've done that ALL THREE GAMES thus far. Gotta get that fixed. Can't beat good teams fumbling the ball. Got burned on some screen passes..... just like we did Vs. Tyler....just like we did Vs. Longview. If Marshall ever puts together a complete game without the boneheaded mistakes.....they are going to be really hard to beat. BUT....we had some mistakes that could cost you a game if it were a close contest. Sitting at (2-1) feels good. Marshall notoriously starts slow most seasons..... but we got a monster non-district game coming this Friday Vs. Carthage. Should be a HUGE test for our offense AND defense.
