I Believe What God Said

Many of the problems we face in life are self-inflicted. We worry and doubt about things. We become frustrated with work or with other people’s actions. All of this is due to the fact that we forget to believe what God said. When this happens to us, we need to read the owner’s manual our Creator gave to us.  Let’s start today’s lesson by reading from Acts.

Acts 27: 21 - 26

Here we see Paul on his trip to Rome. This is after he had appealed his case to Nero. While on the ship to Rome, they ran into a storm. This was a huge storm and they were facing certain death. God had other plans, however. He gave Paul good news of their deliverance from the storm. Paul tried to encourage the rest of the people on the ship by telling them that he believed what God said. There is a great lesson in this for us, too. We face many storms, many trials, and many tribulations in our lives here on Earth. We often get discouraged during these trials. However, we should remember that when we face times such as these, we need to ask ourselves if we believe what God said?

Sometimes we feel down on ourselves. We feel like there is nothing going right for us. When this happens to us, we need to believe what God said. God said that we are special.

These encouraging words from God should restore our self-esteem.

Sometimes we feel that there is no purpose in our lives. When we feel this way, we should believe what God said. God said we were made to serve, and that is our purpose in life.

Ecclesiastes 12: 13

These encouraging words from God should give us our purpose in this life.

Sometimes we feel as if no one loves us. When this happens, we should believe what God said when He said we are greatly loved.

Sometimes, we feel as if we have been rejected by people. When we feel this way, we need to believe what God said when He told us we are forgiven of our sins.

Sometimes we feel as if we have no family at all. We feel as if we are alone. When we feel this way, we should believe what God said when He said we are His children.

Galatians 3: 26 - 28

These encouraging words from God should help us to find family, whether they are blood relatives or not.

Sometimes we feel like we just can’t do it. When this is the case, we should believe God when He says we can do it. We can do it through Christ.

Philippians 4: 13

These encouraging words from God should help us to feel empowered.

Sometimes we feel like no one is listening to us. When we do, we should believe what God said when He said our prayers are heard.

I Peter 3: 12

These encouraging words from God should let us know that someone is always listening to us.

Sometimes we feel as if there is no justice in the world. We see people going unpunished for all manner of evil and wickedness. When we feel this way, we should believe what God said when He said that every single human being who has ever lived will be judged.

II Corinthians 5: 10

These encouraging words from God should let us know that justice will come. People may get away with evil while on this Earth, but they will face retribution in Judgment.

God has the answers to all of our problems. All it takes is a little faith in His word, and not all the negativity that is in the world around us.
