For almost two years I’d advocated Abbott sending bus loads of illegals to DC.  He finally started it.  But never, in my wildest dreams did I think anyone would send plane loads to the Vineyard.  Talk about Make my Day!  Christmas in September.

Thank goodness you got out of this profession. Your disloyalty and callous attitude are something else. Embracing political pandering over all else is transparently an attack on public schools as a foundation of our society.

Trying to push a leftist political agenda by indoctrinating 8 years shouldn’t happen.  Evidently you’re ok with teaching young children perverted ideas.

Shutting down schools for covid proved to be a terrible idea as we now know how far behind the 8 ball it placed kids as far as the mental and social anxieties it caused.  Not to mention the financial strain it put on some families to get childcare and meals their kids missed.  You sure didn’t seem to mind that. Your political affiliation is clouding your ability to think.

Should teachers be paid more sure, but where is the money going to come from ?

I can tell you several easy places to get the money from, without raising taxes.

1. School boards should elect people with a business background, instead of family and friends, so they make sure their darlings are taken care of. I believe that NO ONE should be elected to a school board if they have children in the school district. Which means more of the populace needs to be involved in the Local School Systems.

2. Look at the amount of administrators and the amount of money these people get paid. They change a title of someone in the administration building, they get huge raises. While teachers, might get a 2-3% raise every other year--still 6% below the inflation rate, and won't cover insurance costs most year as the insurance companies prey on school districts.

3. End the "Mentor" teacher or what ever they are calling these teachers that walk around the building telling other teachers how to run a classroom. In my district we have about 12 of them--all making about 80-100K per year, not teaching, just making sure teachers are "doing what they are suppose to do", for the principals.  Instead of wasting this money on know it alls, they should have the assistant principals and principal do their job--work with the teachers. Because all they do now is walk throughs and find an excuse to write something bad about a teacher.

Example: I know a principal that went to a teachers 8th period class, on the first football friday of this school year, the last class of the day, at 3:30 pm, when school gets out at 4 pm and does a formal "walk through". And while 95% of everything was going great, the principal pointed out that 2 of the 20 students in the class were "not on task", without asking the teacher what was going on with those students. 1 student had completed their work and were getting ready for the drill team stuff after school, and the other student was on their phone. The teacher told the student several times to put the phone away, which he did not, but instead of the principal seeing this happen at least 2 times, told the teacher about it in a formal walk through. And this was after the principal had told the teachers that they could do what they wanted about phones in the classroom, and the classroom phone rules are posted on the wall. SMH.

4. Superintendent pay has gone crazy, and then they hire 2-3 "assistant" superintendents, even in smaller districts. That eats up a budget. And there a public record websites that will tell you what each person in a school district is making.

5. Don't allow people to become "principals" after onluy 3 years in the classroom. Who knows if someone is a good teacher after 3 years, but that is what is happening, because they can be hired at a higher rate and still be in the education business, taking taxpayer funds. A person should be in the classroom at least 10 years before becoming a principal of any kind, assistant or head principal. Wasting money is what school districts can do, but it starts at the top.

You want to stop wasteful spending in school, get on a school board and work the budget and see where the money goes.

Using people for a political stunt, it turns out, had a sinister back story. Of course, it's still comedy gold, right, Monte?

Furious Texas Sheriff Announces Criminal Investigation Into Martha’s Vineyard Migrant Flights

Authorities have confirmed they are opening a criminal investigation into the individuals who “lured” approximately 50 migrants from the migrant resource center in San Antonio to be flown to Martha’s Vineyard at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ request.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar confirmed the investigation during a press conference Monday “to clear the air for everyone,” alleging that 48 migrants were “lured under false pretenses” to stay at a hotel for a couple of days, shuttled to a plane, flown to Florida, and eventually transported to Martha’s Vineyard, where they had been promised work and solutions to other problems.

A number of migrants have claimed to have been approached and paid $200 cash by a mysterious woman called “Perla” to recruit people to board a plane to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday. By Friday the migrants were being transported from the island’s lone shelter to temporary housing at Joint Base Cape Cod in Buzzards Bay—off Martha’s Vineyard entirely.

Salazar did not mention any specific suspects but said he had “the names of some suspects involved who we believe are persons of interest at this point.” He said he won’t part with the names but that “everybody on this call knows who those names are already.”

DeSantis claimed responsibility for the two flights that ferried the migrants to the upscale Massachusetts island as part of what the Republican governor’s office called part of efforts to “transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”

Salazar, who is a Democrat, said he felt bothered by the news and is working with nongovernmental organizations, media, and advocacy groups to help the migrants with representation.

He said he has spoken to one attorney who is representing a number of migrants as part of the investigation to discover if this was “a strictly predatory measure,” noting somebody “hunted them down, preyed upon them... for the sake of political theater. I believe people need to be held accountable for it.”

“What infuriates me the most about this case is that here we have 48 people who are already on hard times, they are here legally in our country at this point, they have every right to be where they are, and I believe they were preyed upon,” Salazar said, alleging the migrants were “exploited and hoodwinked” for nothing more than “political posturing.”

Salazar said he was unable to definitely provide a statute or criminal activity that was broken “but what I can tell you what was done to these folks is wrong.” He said he wanted to find out “sooner rather than later” what charges, if any, will apply and to whom.

He labeled the allegations he has heard as “absolutely distasteful, disgusting, and an abuse of human rights.” He said he was enraged by the news and said he believed criminal activity was “involved,” though had not yet spoken with any migrants yet.

Salazar said there may be parallel laws broken on the federal side and welcomed the White House to “give me a call.”

Who would have guessed a San Antonio area sheriff is mad? He should be thanking DeSantis for showing what hypocrites the democrats and liberals are. They deported those people from Martha's Vineyard "faster than a speeding bullet".

Maybe he should be investigating the White House for NOT following the laws of the nation. This guy is nothing more than a media #### for the democratic party. He is playing politics also, yet I bet you won't denounce him for doing the same thing.

These people are ALL CRIMINALS--DeSantis is wrong sending them to Martha's Vineyard--he should be sending them back to their home countries!!!!!

But continue to back the treasonous people in the White House and CRIMINALS--that is the way of the liberal.

How about investigating Plugs for ignoring our immigration laws? How about for sending and releasing illegals all over the  southern states under the cover of darkness?  What Abbott and DeSantis are doing pales in comparison to what Plugs has done .... How about it @BarryLaverty? ....

The only investigating that is going on is if someone can be charged with a crime on the books.  In my opinion this is similar to a timeshare offer that gives you a free trip to Cancun, Hot Springs, Tahiti, wherever, but you have to sit through a sales spiel.  I can't say that the pamphlets were misleading, because other cities and states have done it.  Maine averages spending $41 million a year according to this article.  Cost of Illegal Immigration in Maine | Newsmax.com .

Maine also has open borders and it appears that they are upset and not just the people of the wealthy playground of Martha's Vineyard.  Illegal Aliens Are Staying in Maine Hotels…and YOU’RE Footing the Bill! – Main First Project Org (mainefirstproject.org)

Florida officials made fake 'official-looking' brochure advertising refugee benefits for migrants, lawsuit against Ron DeSantis says

  • Migrants who were flown to Martha's Vineyard filed a lawsuit against Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday.

  • Migrants were made to believe that they would receive refugee benefits upon arrival, lawsuit says.

  • They received "official-looking materials" including a brochure "manufactured" by Florida officials.

Florida officials and agencies used several tactics to lure migrants on a chartered flight to Martha's Vineyard, including making a fake brochure that purports refugee benefits, according to a class-action lawsuit.

On September 14, 50 migrants, most of whom were from Venezuela, were flown in two chartered planes from Texas to Martha's Vineyard as part of a political stunt by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to criticize border policies under the Biden administration.

Now, a group of those migrants is taking action against DeSantis and other state officials and agencies in a class-action lawsuit filed on Tuesday. Lawyers representing the migrants accused DeSantis and Florida officials of plotting an "illegal scheme" to "defraud vulnerable immigrants to advance a political motive."

Part of that "scheme," according to the lawsuit, was to make "false promises and false representations" of potential employment and housing, among other benefits, upon arriving on Martha's Vineyard.

For example, just before they arrived on the island, migrants were given a "shiny, red folder" filled with "official-looking materials," including a brochure titled "Massachusetts Refugee Benefits."

The brochure contained misleading information on resettlement aid that, in reality, was not available for migrants seeking asylum in Massachusetts, as previously reported by Insider.

The lawsuit goes further by accusing DeSantis and other officials of fabricating the leaflet entirely.

"On information and belief, the brochure was manufactured by Defendants," the lawsuit read, adding that it "echoed the type of false representation" that migrants were given by word-of-mouth, such as assistance with housing, food, and employment in the first 90 days upon arrival in Massachusetts.

According to the lawsuit, the brochure also took language from an existing state program, the Massachusetts Refugee Resettlement Program, which none of the migrants were eligible for.

"This brochure was not prepared by the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants, or any other Massachusetts agency or immigration services organization," the lawsuit stated.

A representative from the state's Office for Refugees and Immigrants did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Socialists call it a "political stunt", common sense people call it spreading the wealth. If the liberals want to allow all of these criminals into our country ILLEGALLY, then they should have to take care of them in their precious "safe spaces" also. They all talk about caring, as long as they don't have to do the dirty work. But what would you expect about those who are beholden to the government for everything they do.

These people are ILLEGAL CRIMINALS entering our country and you are comparing what he did, sending them by air to Martha's Vineyard, to a slave ship. You have really sunk to a new low. Not even close to funny, but then again liberals can only attack, instead of asking the government to follow the laws of the land. You will get what's coming to you, karma is a female dog.
