It should be a good one. I’m glad we have them at home. Rusk, Center and Van are all playing for second obviously but 2nd is more important than usual. Nobody wants to make the playoffs and draw Gilmer or PG round one. There is no room for error.

Center has the athletes this year. Whether they can beat Rusk and Van remains to be seen. But they have no shortage of horses.

I understand that both of these teams have outstanding high school QBs.  Would be interested in learning more about them from knowledgeable fans of their teams.

Idk bout Rusk but center doesn’t have what you’re looking for.

I saw Center’s QB last year live when we played and I’ve seen a little bit of him this year. Good size and very athletic. He is a true dual threat QB. He has a strong arm but his running ability is his best attribute in my opinion. Most dangerous when he pulls the ball down to scramble because he is hard to bring down and he keeps his eyes down the field. More than a few times I’ve seen him pull up and throw it deep when the defense commits to stop him from running.
Rusk QB is similar size. He is also athletic but not to the same extent as the kid from Center. He’s the younger brother of the Rusk QB from last year (who just got his first start for the University of Colorado this weekend and played very well) and an all District  WR and DB. He has a cannon for an arm and can make all the throws. Very smart on reading the defense and knowing where to go with the ball. Had he played QB last year I think he would be on the radar of several power 5 schools. He is legit. Obviously his dad played in the NFL for years so he’s been trained well.

It should be fun watching these two go at it.
