StingEmALTO
This post was recognized by RETIREDFAN1! StingEmALTO was awarded the badge 'Helpful' and 1 points. The Alto Yellowjackets will host the Mount Enterprise Wildcats this Friday for Homecoming 2022; kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. Best I can tell the Jackets and Wildcats have only played twice in football: 1978 and 1979, both Alto wins. Both teams had a bye last week. The Jackets defeated Groveton the week before 32-20 while the Wildcats got in the win column defeating Huntsville Alpha Omega 58-23. Schedules and results for the 2022 season thus far: Shelbyville 48 - Alto 44 Alto 48 - West Sabine 22 Alto 22 - San Augustine 8 Garrison 28 - Alto 20 Alto 32 - Groveton 20 Deweyville 40 - Mt Enterprise 26 West Hardin 40 - Mt Enterprise 14 Maud 47 - Mt Enterprise 28 Cayuga 38 - My Enterprise 6 Mt Enterprise 58 - Alpha Omega 23 Personal note: The night Vonte passed away on the basketball court last February Alto was playing Mount Enterprise at home. I remember everything about that night and how absolutely gut wrenching it was. I appreciate the Mount Enterprise team, coaches, and “folks” that were there and the concern and sympathy shown toward our people. Many of them attended the funeral and checked up on us; I will always remember their kindness and support. Good luck to both teams Friday night. 2

StingEmALTO
Area Football Previews: By Jay Neal [email protected] Mount Enterprise Wildcats (1-4) at Alto Yellowjackets (3-2) 7:00 p.m. Friday at Cam’ron Matthews Field at ‘Jacket Stadium in Alto Last Week: Both teams were idle. Next Week: Mt. Enterprise at Overton. Alto at Tenaha Game Notes: There will be a fireworks show as a part of the Alto homecoming festivities following the game, but sparks should be flying during the game when Alto’s Rashawn Mumphrey and the Wildcats’ Kaegan Ash get rolling. Mumphrey needs just 109 yards to reach the 1,000-yard mark for the season...Ash has rushed for 921 yards and has scored 13 TDs...Mount’s lone win came two weeks ago against Huntsville Alpha Omega Academy, 58-23...The Yellowjackets should be fired up to put on a big show for the homecoming crowd. https://www.jacksonvilleprogress.com/sports/area-football-previews-rusk-troup-face-tough-road-tests/article_562bab72-4590-11ed-a006-bb2fe7cf8e39.html?utm_campaign=blox&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social
