In 1922, Texas High rolled up 639 yards of total offense as Davis paved the way with four touchdowns in a 107-7 Texas High win over Longview at City League Park in Texarkana. The Tigers tallied 47 points in the 4th quarter alone.

In 1960, Bill Ewing and Don Petty scored for the Lobos but two missed extra points, plus a Mav two point conversion, lifted Marshall to a 15-12 victory over the Lobos at Maverick Stadium. Marshall intercepted a pass in its own end zone as time expired to preserve the win.

I kept tuning in periodically and man, Tyler just looked lost.

I couldn’t believe my eyes tonight. I’ve never seen them look like that. We held them to 59 yards in the first half. They had 141 in the 2nd half. They changed QB’s and got a spark. But it didn’t take long to adjust, force pressure and then here came the mistakes. Way too many athletes on that squad to look like that. Same goes for Lufkin.

The last three meetings have been, by far, the most dominating three game stretch for Longview in this series (and that's with two of our down teams).

Lobos have outscored Tyler 149-14 in the last three meetings with two shut outs in there. Longview also scored 50+ on Cujo for the first time in program history just a few seasons ago.

But it goes even further. Tyler has managed just 16 first downs in the three games combined, half of those coming last season. Overall, the Lions have mustered just 122 total rushing yards in those three games. 329 TOTAL yards in those 3 games, with 72 of those yards coming on one play in the third quarter two years ago.

To say it has been domination, is a complete understatement.

That dominance continues this week also. While we know the Lobos can score any way possible, to me that defense has been outstanding all year. Keep it up, Lobos!

Did I read in the previews that Longview once lost 107-7😮😮😮😮

We were awful in early 1920s lol.

1922 - 107-7 loss to Texas High, 47 points scored in the 4th quarter lol - https://www.lobohistory.com/gamelogs/articles/55.html

1921 - 112-0 loss to Mineola. Haven't found an article for it yet, but confirmed it did occur.

1920 - 92-0 loss to Palestine.

Literally have given up 56 points just 9 times in our history. Only three of them have come outside of the 1920s (60 vs Tyler in 1931, 58 vs Marshall in 1952, 56 vs Lake Ridge in 2015). Heck, we've only given up 50 points in a game just 16 times in 1,171 games.

Jalen Hale will enter Rose Stadium, just 86 receiving yards away from tying Kamden Perry's career receiving yardage mark at Longview High.

Longview enters Rose Stadium looking to clinch, at least a share, of their 41st all-time district championship. Lobos also looking to clinch the top seed in 7-5A D1 no matter what happens in the final week.

My My, Now “HERE COMES THIS TRAIN” lol. Growing up near the railroad tracks that was a common saying. It ran every hour on the hour going both ways. Now it seems to run every two hour on the hour. If you have attended a game at the Rose 🌹 you may have Attuned to it twice during a game.

That being said, Let’s say Longview scores 2 TD’s a quarter, that’s 8 td’s and the train run twice during the game, that’s 10, and TH turn the ball over on an average 2 1/2 times a game, meaning we will have hear this Train 13 times in two and a half to three hours. This is going to get old in a hurry. Wear your ear plugs.

Come on CUJO

Lol Longview will call the dogs off.

How did JT get so bad?! I feel like just a few years ago JT showed promise and was only a few years away from competing with Longview for the dominant spot in East Texas. Now they can hardly win a game.

I guess we’re truly blessed to have Coach King and the consistency he’s brought.

2022 Tyler Lions.

Most talented, yet sorriest team I've seen lol

Lobos big. Tyler will get destroyed in the trenches.

Yep this sums it. Have the talent to be the 2nd best team in the district but our coaching staff talent is the worst in the state
