In stark contrast to the two absolute shellackings these two teams delivered in the bi-district round (Beckville 77-7 over Rivercrest and Joaquin 61-0 over Jewett-Leon) this Area round matchup should be one whale of a ball game. The Joaquin Rams  are the #2 seed out of District 11AA D1 , with their only two losses being a 42-41 setback to these same Beckville Bearcats in week 2, and a 25-22 loss to #1 Timpson in week 9. The Bearcats sport a 10-1 record, with their only loss being a season opening 55-24 loss to Timpson. Since the week 2 nail biter, the Bearcats have not been challenged, winning every game by 30 or more. Aside from the Timpson loss and a 34-21 win at Garrison in week 6, the Rams have been dominant as well, consistently rolling up 40 and 50 point wins. The Bearcats feature a wide open spread offense led by QB Callen Castles and D1 athlete/ RB/ WR Jacoby Williams. The Ram defense will counter with DE Maddox Hutchins and S Cole Bragg. The Rams’ slot-T offense will work behind an offensive line led by OT Ethan Davis and C Colton Whitten. This will be the 4th meeting in two years between these teams, with the Bearcats holding a 3-0 mark over that span. Beckville HC Cody Ross is 3-2 vs Joaquin, and Rams HC Wade Lawson holds a 4-3 record vs Beckville. The Bearcats ended the Rams’ season in bi-district a year ago. Can the Rams break the streak and get back on top in the series? Will the Bearcats continue to find ways to beat Joaquin?

Sorry true….. got to go with the father and not the son this time lol

By kickoff, it will be 11 weeks since Beckville played a team capable of trading blows with them. Not their fault that the UIL placed them in a cupcake district, but the Rams have been in a couple of battles since then. That’s why I think we can flip the script on them this time.

Highly possible and probable, that's why I'm saying weather could be a factor, rain makes catching a pass when it's cold and the football ball heavy a harder prospect..Beck is still as good as last game and yall might be actually better but conditions forcing a team one dimensional is a Hella helping hand ol son 👀

No, they just have passing problems all the time.

I really wish J would incorporate some smart, timely passes into their game plan each week.  Actually work at it and it’d take the Ram offense to another level.

Two passes per game ain’t gonna get it done.

Haha!! I gotcha, sorry I didn’t read into that.

Joaquin has the foundation to grow into a region threat every season.  In my opinion, if y’all would throw 10 to 12 times per game it’d greatly help your bread and butter.

I know you’ll have games where your offense as is will put up huge points scored like Friday night.

However, the offense as is has been used for quite a long time now and hasn’t gotten Joe very deep into the playoffs.  You’ve got to add to it to improve.

I’d love to see Joaquin win state, oh my goodness.

Pulling for Joe Quinn to get it done this week. Ball control and tough defense gets it done this time around .... I'll probably head over and watch this one ... game of the week, for sure .... turnovers and penalties will make a difference as to who prevails .... Go Rams! .....
