‘TG&Y’ was one of our favorite variety stores! Locations in towns all over our Texas. “Founded in 1935, the chain was named for the last initials of its three founders: Tomlinson, Gosselin, & Young. The three men pooled their financial resources & built a warehouse in Oklahoma City, allowing their stores to buy merchandise in bulk directly from manufacturers, instead of through wholesalers.”
