He is a freshman and has played two Varsity possessions this year, one in each playoff game during the first half playing with and against the starting units of both teams. He has led both possession to TDs, throwing a TD pass on both.

He has thrown 46 touchdowns in 9 games for the freshmen team and 2 touchdowns in the playoffs with the starting varsity offense.

Gilmer radio guy in his interview with the Gilmer coach, asked the people of Gilmer to show up in the stands to intimidate the Carthage team…….now that right there is funny - a Surratt coached team intimated at Lobo.

I watched that earlier today.  Sure glad  Larry asked Surratt about the officials on Pigskin Prep.  That takes an excuse away from the Gilmer announcers.  No home cooking this time since these officials have called games for both teams this year.

Or just intimidated by Gilmer period. The bulldogs have been daddy for awhile now.

Good run Gilmer but everybody besides Carthage was playing a short season to begin with. Carthage is on another level. There will be "Rudy" type speeches and "at a boys" and if "we play our very bests".....and nobody's gonna fault you for those.....but yeah.....the buck nut stops here. Very, very solid Gilmer team guys. Top notch season. Good luck to both.

How did y'all do so well against Lumberton this year?

In short, Keeling and the staff and a scrappy bunch of boys that wouldn't quit. But i dont do "short" lol. Despite the very early exit.....we weren't exactly a bad football team. The triple option out of the flexbone is a very tricky offense to defend and a staff like Keeling and co. can dial up some solid game plans to bridge the gap. We racked up 535 yards of total offense against Lumberton, 451 of it on the ground....averaged 8.5 yards per carry against them. Youth and defense was our downfall this season. We graduated 29 the previous year. We were young at the skills on offense and every where on defense. Our whole starting backfield will return next year - QB, FB, and both RBs/pitchmen as well as a 6'5 receiver that's a sophomore. Our playoff score looks awful but We led 6-0 after 1 qtr, trailed 14-6 at the half. It got away from us in the 2nd half. 7 turnovers puts you in a big hole.

Looking like rain chances for tomorrow have dropped and it’ll be cloudy / overcaset.

Temp will start just under 60 at kickoff and be about 54 at 10 pm.

PERFECT FOOTBALL WEATHER

Friday Night
A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 54. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

We'll see who is right. NWS thinks it may be raining at some point during the game.

After talking to my ole Buddy Ravodney Hardy and learning the very basic ins and outs of how Surratt does things it's no wonder he's had the success he's had at Carthage.

It only takes spending a few minutes with Surratt to see why the Bulldogs have performed well over his tenure.

We’re fortunate and will enjoy the ride while we can.

Go Dawgs!!!!!!!!!
