regaleagle Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Welp.......they have nothing left to talk about now except for the upcoming games.Β That says a boatload about this game.
country Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 The magnitude of this. Wimberley is a good football team. Came in undefeated.
regaleagle Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Jerry is from Region 4 area, I believe. That explains his prediction being a tad bit "off" right there.

country Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Reminds me of the 83 Dangerfield Gladewater game Regional final. Two great teams met at Lobo Stadium undefeated.Β Gladewater could not make a first down. This compliment to the Dogs as I compare to the best football team I ever saw Β 1
Crawford Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 Was Glen Rose that good last week or did Carthage just play that bad or a little bit of both? I didn't get to watch much of it. 1
chevyman Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Not too soon to talk about the prospects of #10 i suppose?

Reagle the coaching staff had to make a decision on scheme. Β If you listen to the Texan Coach interviews prior to game, he was dead set that Carthage wanted to establish the run early and often. Β So they decided to stop the run early and did an ok job of it. Β Only problem is Carthage is too balanced. Β So Surratt is playing chess and the Texan coaches are playing checkers. Β Now the game is out of hand.
country Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Think a combination of Glen Rose was that good and the dogs brought their A game today.

Carthage turned the ball over 4 times.Β GR turned it over twice.Β Carthage had a long TD called back.Β But GR was good and played like a team that wanted it.Β So I think a bit of both.Β 2

Their secondary is to slow. If they play to loose then they just throw the short pass. Carthage has way to many weapons for Wimberly.Β 1

So many sophomores and Juniors starting on this team.Β They will lose a few key contributors like Cuff, Paddie and Hatten on offense and Harper, Cabada, Bell and a few others on defense... but.. So many Juniors, sophomores and Freshmen that have gotten playing time and contributed to this run as well.Β All of the RBs return. Young Surratt will step in at QB... There is a chance this is the start of another run, but all it takes is one game each year to end that.Β Can't count em before they hatch for sure

Gilmer would have gave G R all they wanted and maybe wonβ¦β¦..That Gilmer nose guard is special and would have stopped a bunch that Carthage didnβtΒ That being said, Carthageβs big boys on defense are just sophomores, so by next year they will be right their with the Gilmer nose.Β
TCU44 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Never mind I said Carthage by 28 earlier then I said 40 Iβm gonna go with a cool 60 now! It is over! 1
regaleagle Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Needless to say it will be a very, very long bus ride back to Wimberley this evening......and a very disappointing one at that!!Β Β

regaleagle Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 When the QB runs a direct sprint draw with an empty backfield......that pretty much says it all.
