Because they wear their chin straps so loose, yeh unless your helmet and chin strap fit perfectly it’s not the most comfortable, but if you’re a critical player in the scheme, coming off the field for a play every time your lose your lid is not helping your team. Plus helmets are built for concussions. Still it's a chin strap problem for the most part. Hair

HGWar6
What is the rule regarding a player losing their helmet? So they must come off the field but if they don't are you penalized or charged a time out? Edited December 18, 2022 by HGWar6 Missing word

dfwfootballfan
Also if the helmet comes off and the kid continues to play in that play without it it’s a penalty against him. I’ve seen that called in a state championship game before.

If I'm the coach, I tell him to buckle up or get some extra sharp tweezers for that wooden bench.

HGWar6
I'd think it would be difficult for the kid to just stop in the middle of a play if his helmet came off.

Nobody said that sir, It's the problem of it coming off continuously.

If it’s in a pile and you can’t get out they won’t call it, but if you continue to make an effort they will call it, it’s a judgment call. In the Aledo game earlier they could have called it but didn’t and that kid was pursuing the ball carrier to the boundary.

And the kid we’re talking about here is a lineman so he’s always in the pile. He’sa good ball player they need him inside stopping that run
VonG
It's unfair for the rest of the state to go up against these teams (Desoto. Duncanville, and North Shore) with all this talent. They have the coaching also.

VonG
North Shore like damn. We are not used to this. They match us in every way. Peterman is definitely calling a great game for Duncanville.
