Here’s the thing, winners don’t focus on one team.  Their focus is the end result and that is a National Title.  The Michigan rivalry is minuscule compared to playing for national titles.  Teams whose dna is strictly focused on getting out from one teams shadow is destined for failure.  We’ve seen that from Aggy.  The brass at Ohio state will not run a HC off over a rivalry record if that HC has them in the National title game often.  Fans are the ones that care about rivalries.  Richard or Ryan, whatever his name is, will not walk away from Ohio state for aTm unless he gets a contract better than anybody else in the country has.  It’ll have to be 11million+ for guaranteed 10 years.  Will the Aggy take a chance that he can do no better than Sumlin or fisher for that kind of money, publicity, criticism, shame, etc….  I guess we will see just how desperate Aggy is and how dumb Mr. Day is

You act like Texas wasn’t in the same boat years before . Has nothing to do with desperation and Richard or Ryan wouldn’t be making a dumb decision. A&M is a good job . You’re just foolish in thinking they don’t have the resources to be compete for a championship. I never seen anyone not admit they’re wrong. I don’t think he is a legitimate candidate anyways but acting like A&M has absolutely nothing to offer is stupid.

I told you guys the move to the sec wasn’t as good as you thought.  I was right. You’ve managed to be as mediocre there as you were in the Big12.

6-7 years ago I told you Fisher wasn’t going to work.  I got laughed at again.  Now you’re paying him $27,500 per day to not coach your Aggies.  He never gave you the greatness you proclaimed he would.  I was right again.

Seems to me you guys are the ones needing to get a grip…..on reality.

Okay, who would you have picked over Fisher at time?

I’m not an Aggie, I don’t really care.

False.

If you did not care then you would never post in the thread. You care a great amount.

For the record, The Ohio State University has played in the national championship game twice in the playoff era. They won the national championship in the first CFP season in 2014-15. They got blown out in the national championship game in 2020-21. They’ve lost in the semifinals three other times. Are they a consistent top 5 program? Yes. But that’s where it ends.

A&M was a good job when Fisher took it, he’s a national championship coach.

you’ve never seen anyone admit they’ve been wrong?  Just say you guys were wrong about Fisher.  Say it while looking in the mirror so you can say you’ve seen it.

I never said aTm has nothing to offer.  They have a lot to offer, ask Jimbo Fisher.  They do have less now though.

This is an asinine comment. As a whole, A&M is a better job now than when Jimbo took it simply due to the number of facility upgrades. Alabama went through tough times with Franchione and Shula. That didn’t scare away Saban, and he had a NC I think in his third year. Texas struggled through Charlie Strong and somewhat with Herman. That didn’t make the program less desirable. OU went through ten years of bad football prior to Stoops.
The big mistake by the Aggie leadership was making Jimbo’s contract guaranteed money. I don’t have a problem with coaches having buyout clauses to protect themselves, but all guaranteed money was crazy!

Exactly that why Aggie fans were extremely frustrated with the previous regime. Absolute dumb not to protect themselves from their own stupidity.

So it ends that Ohio state is a perennial CFP team in the mix for a national title every year.  Glad you agree with me.  Why does someone walk away from that?  Maybe the Aggy brass should just offer Saban $20million a year guaranteed

Who said he was a viable candidate? After another Michigan loss he might be. To think he wouldn’t listen shows you how clueless you really are.

Ok smarty, Texas hires a new coach and it’s pretty much wait and see from the Texas fans here.  You guys hire a new coach and everybody sees what is happening but yall crow over it how he’s gonna take yall to the promised land.  He didn’t, we were right, yall were wrong.  Why can’t (you included) man up and just say yall were wrong.  Not one of the condescending punks here have came back and admitted they were wrong.

He was wrong hire but best hire at the time. Texas has gone through the same process.

Jimbo didn’t build those facilities.  The university and donors did.

That “ dumb “ sec move that you claim helped that process. It ok eat a turkey leg you’re getting owned sir.

Aggies abroad.

every agent listens.  Saban’s did when Texas donors called.  Doesn’t mean he’s serious about the job.  Heck Fisher called every open job for a few years til somebody gave him what he wanted.

lol you had looking at houses in Austin. We can agree Day is a long shot .

You’re listening too much Texags. Pretty much a lot of schools would have done the same.

Well, not sure who should be surprised by the news but Evan Stewart did not travel with the team to Baton Rouge. Injuries. Portal. Both. Picture should get clearer soon.

He got beat out by Jahdae Walker as a starter and then he quit. He also quit on his high school team. Best of luck with that and his new team. All talent no brains.

Kids like Even Stewart are the reason it is hard to like the transfer portal.

Halla, I forgot about the whole blow up his senior year and him sitting it out. At this point in time my take is these players wanting to leave might not be a good thing. We have a center who I'm not convinced doesn't love track more. We've got players who aren't playing up to their * rankings. Maybe a fresh set of eyes can separate some of the chaff from the wheat.
