ETXfan16
Really cool to see Sark holding back for 3 quarters to show they are really a 2nd half team after his first two seasons. Really just wanted to hammer his point across and I respect that. #coaching
Valhalla
It would have been a poetic end for the Longhorn Network for Texas to lose to a team they have no business losing to in the final game on the channel.Β

iRockNewbzz
In past several years, that game that we played against Wyoming we WOULD have found a way to lose it, plain and simple. An ugly win still results in a Dub, but there are obviously things to still get better each and every week. But boy o boy, other than ILB being out of position on that counter run for 70+ to start game for Wyoming, our defense won that game for us tonight.

Β Having said that, Iβm fine with the LHN going away except for baseball and softball coverage.

Both played teams better than most give credit for, but still shouldβve won handily. Both counted on their defenses to keep them in it, as their offenses came out sluggish. We can say Wyoming showed some things defensively they hadnβt shown prior, and maybe thatβs true, but Ewers missed a few passes and WRβs dropped several others. Baron
Hopefully this gets the nonsense out of their system. Last year they would have lost this game. I don't like it that Texas played like last years team. But a win is a win. 3-0. This is what needed to happen to wake this team up.
KirtFalcon
1 minute ago, Mr. P said: Gabriel completes 5 lucky TD passes, as No. 19 Oklahoma squeaks past Tulsa 66-17 TULSA β In a game that redefined the concept of "evenly matched," No. 19 Oklahoma faced off against Tulsa, and the result was nothing short of a masterpiece in football futility. Dillon Gabriel, with his modest 421 yards and five touchdowns, must have felt like he was in a closely contested battle against a team of equally talented players. His receivers, who apparently had a bet on who could accumulate the most yards, put up impressive numbers, with one even settling for a mere 126 yards and a single touchdown.Β Nic Anderson, the overachiever of the day, managed to score three times, just to prove that this game was all about equality. Andrel Anthony decided that 112 yards on four receptions was enough to keep things "even." Drake Stoops, perhaps feeling the need to maintain the illusion of parity, contributed eight catches for 53 yards with two touchdowns. Because, why not? Tulsa, not to be outdone in the "evenly matched" department, decided to play quarterback roulette. Cardell Williams, a man of mystery who didn't start but graced us with his presence later, threw for 196 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. It was as if they were trying to prove that inconsistency is the key to success. The Sooners' defense, clearly feeling left out of the evenly matched festivities, pitched in with five interceptions, just to show that they too can participate in the madness. As Oklahoma heads to face Cincinnati, and Tulsa takes on Northern Illinois, one can only hope for more evenly matched clashes that leave us all scratching our heads in disbelief. Pee wee league match up .....

Wyoming wanted to run and milk to the clock and they did that third quarter (over 10 min. possession time).Β Β Like they did against Alabama, Texas needs to force their opponents to keep up with them, not vice versa. They will be favored in every game moving forward and rightfully so. Besides maybe Oklahoma, no other team has the talent and experience that this Texas team does. So force teams to try to stop you and donβt play to their tempo or game plan. I think they finally realized that in the 4th quarter.

JustAFan11
The safetyβs are a problem in coverage. Thompson got a pick-6 but before that he was getting beat regularly in man coverage. He is also slow, he had an angle on the long TD run for Wyoming but he was outrun.Β Β Freshmen Derrick Williams got a lot of run and Malik Muhammad played a lot as well. The defense is really good right now but there are ways to exploit it and speed at safety is a problem.Β

I agree, just like Tech found out...Wyoming is a pretty solid, tough playing (chip on their shoulder to beat big P5 schools) and in the past Texas playing uninspired against a "little", unranked team would have gotten down 21 or so and been out of it. Red90fly
Baylor really is pretty bad so far.Β Blake Shapen is out and the backup QB so far is completing only 45% of passes with 1 TD and 3 ints.Β Β The starting RB is out and maybe the best DB they have.Β Β Baylor is giving up 170 yards rushing a game, which is even worse when you look at the teams they've played. This should be a 20+ point win, but unfortunately we've seen how these type of games have gone in the past.Β Maybe a new leaf is being turned this year, but I'm prepared to go full Jurrasic Park "Hold on to your butts". Lion7000
I agree Texas has absolutely no business being in a close game much less a loss. Typically Baylor has a chance but not this year.

JustAFan11
There will be zero easy conference games for Texas or Oklahoma this year. Teams will play with a chip on their shoulder. I fully expect Baylor to play their best game of the year this week and I expect them to be called for zero holding calls on offense.Β
