Having to and doing it because it’s your job is 2 totally different conversations. Guy using a girls restroom because the men’s is locked and him using girls because he identifies as a female is 2 totally different conversations also.

Not in this current environment.....the vast majority can now pick and choose where they will work........try making someone get a bus drivers license......they'll laugh at you and move on to another school.....

Bus license is a for sure fact. DPS makes it so hard to pass that some give up on it.

Keep living in the past.......or in your utopian fantasy.......out here in the real world, the teacher/coach can choose where to work and under what conditions.........again, simple economics......demand is high and supply is very low.......

Might have the illusion of choice, but it won't be at high profile jobs (especially when it comes to football)

If you want a GOOD job then you better be willing to do what the Athletic Director asks you to do. No shortage of applicants at the good football jobs for even the subvarsity positions.

And those schools PAY to get the best of the litter......lol .....if a school won't pay, they get the leftovers or no one at all because there are many jobs more lucrative than teaching......the point of the entire thread.....

Agreed...my point was that if you want a GOOD job with GOOD pay and the AD tells you to get your CDL taken care off...then you better do it.

If not, then of course, there are plenty of jobs available at schools that don't win much and/or don't pay well.

Lol....your in the point of view of the applicant.....the main idea of the thread has been in the point of view of the schools......

Yep...it seemed like you were talking from the point of view of the applicant as well in the post below. So I was just throwing my 2 cents in. All good.

Thank you slick!! Some of these youngsters couldn’t handle coaching all sports at a 2AA school and making a total $2000 stipend plus teaching 5 classes like some of us coaches used to have to do. Oh, by the way there were 3 male coaches and 1 female coach, if we were lucky.

Did it. DC, Head Powerlifting, Head Track, Assistant AD, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, US history teacher, Field guy, bus guy, etc.  Made 55k.  Would have topped out at 70.  Stipend was 5k plus days.  Its not for everyone.

Only the strong survive in some fields.

Wonder if they even have money to pay someone, might just have to give it to someone on staff because of the financial issues. Not that it is a bad place to be for athletes but some might stay away because of the issues with the school.

I have heard that the final 2 are not internal candidates.
