Since the shooting in Alabama there have been 4 shot in Northridge, Cali...6 shot in Louisville, Ky...and 5 shot in Biloxi, Ms.

This type of thing is happening so often in the US that this thread cant even keep up.

So what's the solution? it's a "people problem". It's not a "gun culture" problem. it's a culture problem in general.

Banning "assault rifles" (which most who want to ban them can't even define) or things like the AR-15 aren't going to stop these types of shootings. But that's Democrats' automatic "go to" every single time "ZOMG! Ban <gun type>!"

4 killed in Maine home; 3 wounded in linked highway shooting

In a still frame from video provided by WGME-TV traffic is backed up near a scene where people were injured in a shooting on Interstate 295, in Yarmouth, Maine, Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Gunfire that erupted on the busy highway is linked to a second crime scene where several people have been found dead in a home about 25 miles away in the town of Bowdoin, Maine, state police said Tuesday. BOWDOIN, Maine (AP) — Four people were fatally shot at a house in Maine on Tuesday shortly before gunfire wounded three others on a busy highway, in a pair of crimes that are linked, authorities said. Hours later, a man was charged with murder.

Police closed a portion of the interstate highway and residents and businesses in the area were ordered to shelter in place for about 90 minutes before authorities determined there was no threat to the general public.

The shootings are among a spate of recent mass killings that have shaken communities both large and small, including a Christian elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee; a bank in Louisville, Kentucky and a Sweet 16 party in a small city in Alabama.

In Maine, police charged Joseph Eaton, 34, of Bowdoin, with four counts of murder Tuesday evening but declined to discuss a possible motive for the shootings or identify the shooting victims. Eaton was expected to appear in court later this week.

The crimes began in rural Bowdoin, where the bodies were found, and continued with gunfire 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the south on Interstate 295 in Yarmouth, police said. One of the three highway victims was critically wounded, police said.

Law enforcement officers, some carrying long rifles, could be seen canvassing areas near the highway after the shootings. At one point, heavily armed officers at an off-ramp peered inside the trunk of a car that had apparent bullet holes in the windshield. Police said a person of interest was detained, and witnesses saw one person in handcuffs.

In Bowdoin, a farming community with about 3,000 residents, yellow crime tape hung where the shootings took place, in a home flanked by woods at the end of a long, gravel driveway. About 10 marked and unmarked law enforcement vehicles and a crime scene van were parked outside, and investigators moved about the scene.

At one point, a woman spoke to police outside the house before dropping to her knees and sobbing. Later, hearses were seen leaving from the driveway.

The town of Bowdoin has no affiliation with Bowdoin College, which is located about 10 miles (16 kilometers) away, in the town of Brunswick.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills tweeted her concern for the “families, friends and loved ones of those impacted by this tragedy.” She said she was praying for the injured.

“Like people across Maine, I am shocked and deeply saddened. Acts of violence like we experienced today shake our state and our communities to the core,” she said.

In Yarmouth, traffic backed up on the interstate as police shut down the southbound lanes. The highway reopened later Tuesday, with the exception of one exit where the police were inspecting the car.

Employees at Water Treatment Equipment Inc., a business near the highway, locked the doors and pulled down the shades after being alerted to the lockdown, which lasted about an hour and a half, manager Kim Snyder said. Workers saw cars backing up on the highway, along with police cars, ambulances and fire trucks.

“It definitely shifted the day, and the worry kicked in,” she said. “They hadn’t caught the active shooter. We didn’t know what was going on."

Lenora Felker, who works near the highway at Rosemont Market and Bakery, said she sensed something was afoot when people started streaming in, saying the highway was closed, followed by dozens of law enforcement officers who descended on the area.

Officers went business to business asking if they had seen “anyone that was wet and muddy fleeing,” Felker said. But she knew all the customers and didn’t see anything unusual, she said.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the Alabama party shooting...a 16 yo and a 17 yo. Smh.

Not far from where I live, a 20-year-old shot a 19-year-old in the face and murdered him at an after-prom party then stole his car and took another teenager hostage, all over the victim trying to defend his girlfriend from insults.

These are all super sad stories. Again, what is wrong in the hearts and minds of these people that they want to kill?  We are not trying to get to the root of that problem at all.  We just want to ban guns and hope the hurt, pain, disorders, and conditions will go away, or at the very least, we won't have to worry about them.

The vast majority of kids today are not exposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ and are taught Godless evolution and humanism.......the result is seen every day, and it ain't pretty..........

Claiming to be a Christian and actually fitting God's definition from the New Testament are 2 different things ......

Violence is a characteristic of those who have no relationship with God due to sin which includes a refusal to obey His Word.....Isaiah 59: 1 - 8....Psalm 58: 1-2.....Psalm 73:6

Jesus Christ alone holds the answer to the violence that plagues humanity .....if only people would hear Him, believe Him, and obey Him by repenting of their sins, confessing openly their faith in Him as the Messiah, being immersed in water to wash away all their past sins, and living a life faithful to Him unto death......sadly, He tells us very few will do this.....Matthew 7: 13-14.....so mankind will be cursed with violence until Christ comes again on Judgment Day and there is not a thing that can be done about it EXCEPT come to obedience to the Word of God......

Texas is 93% Christian???????????????

There do in fact have to be guns in order for there to be shootings.  I think we all know that.  But no gun has ever whispered in the ear of a human being and convinced them that murdering people is the answer to whatever is happening in their lives.

But, if you look at what has occurred in the US over the last 60 years, there is no doubt that the country as a whole has moved away from Christianity.  There is no doubt when you look at the laws, orders, and court rulings.  We removed prayer and biblical learning from the classroom.  We allow for "no-fault" divorce.  We had Roe vs Wade.  We teach a creation to the universe that undermines God's Word.  We've erased traditional gender roles.  We've dehumanized people by saying they are no more important than animals or "mother Earth".  We've turned our food to crap.  We've pumped kids full of drugs because they don't act the way we want them to.

And then we wonder why people are so messed up that they would have the depravity to murder school children.

But if we just passed some gun laws....

There absolutely are things to be done about it. We could enact many more stringent measures to take guns off the streets and out of the hands of the general public.

Are you saying it's predestined that people keep murdering each other in our country until the Rapture and nothing can stop that?

You could have stopped right there. BUT FOR guns and easy gun access, we wouldn't have the massive number of murders we do. There are plenty of countries all over the world that have many of the same history and characteristics we do, and they don't have the murders we do, the mass shootings. I could point by point go over your dirge there, but not right now.

Again, you communism is showing.  You have proven time and time again that you don't give a damn about liberty and freedom.  You would have the government own every area of your life if they just told you it was for your own good.  You have demonstrated this time and again with your thoughts on guns, healthcare, lockdowns, forced masking and injections.  As such, we are not the same and will not ever find middle ground on this.  Move to one of those other countries all over the world that don't have the freedoms that we do.  Don't try to turn our country into one of them.  We are a country founded on liberty and freedom and personal responsibility.  If you don't like that there's plenty of places you can go.  We are the only place left with the freedoms we have.

Nothing can be done about it....you seem to be under the ignorant belief that guns are the only means to commit violence........until humanity bows in obedience to God, the world will remain violent ......and it's no more violent now than it has ever been......for the same reason .......

The "rapture" is a false doctrine created by men......but the Bible plainly teaches that until humanity bows in obedience to the True Word of God, violence will not go away and there is nothing men can do against God's verdict.......

The Bible may not refer to as the "rapture", but it does mention several times about God's children being "caught up".

It never says it's gonna be done in secret and it also says all will be raised on Judgment Day.....

The Final Judgment

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

This is talking about on the day of judgment. The verses I posted is talking about God's children that are dead in Christ and those on earth are caught up to be with the Lord. Which some believe will happen either before or during the 7 years of tribulations. The day of judgment has not happen yet.

According to Jesus it will all happen on Judgment Day......I'll take His Word on the subject because He knows more about it than anyone else.......
