0-3 with the third loss being uuuuugleeeey. Eight unearned runs to start the game. :cussing:

Yeah that was an ugly way to start the year.  Campbell, Daly, and Kennedy are the only returning guys in the lineup and Gordon is the only weekend starter back.  Lots of new faces.

Lamar stuns #5 Texas A&M 7-4 in College Station! It’s the Cardinals first win over the Aggies since 2000.

LU (4-0) will host Kansas State (4-0) tomorrow at 6 pm.

Midweek games are always an adventure. Just getting the W no matter how ugly you look is a huge victory.

Texas got their first victory tonight against A&M Corpus Christi, 12-2.

I agree. We struggled with Grambling at Baum but found a way to win.

Hardin grad Ryan Snell with a pair of homers in the win...Snell also hit a walk-off two-run shot in the Cards season opener

Look out for Lamar! Good team they have this year.

A&M's starting pitching has been disappointing outside of Dettmer. As has the bullpen. Way too many walks issued. Batting needs to get more timely hits, too. They've walked a lot, but you can't count on SEC pitchers to load up the bases by walking hitters. Too early to hit the panic button, but there are definitely things that need to get fixed.

Agreed. But they started slow last year as well. The problem is the sec is more competitive in baseball than it is any other sport. You can be a REALLY good team and finish 6th in the west.

Yeeeahhh being outhit like 10-4 and losing the game 10-3 against Portland is troubling. Can still win 2/3 but man. Ouch.

Pitch clock violation ends the LSU game.

Wait, so the team with the lead can stall and the penalty is to end the game? Why wasn’t the batter allowed to take the base?

And I’ve seen time between pitches be much greater than this. This was absolutely ridiculous.

It wasn't called on the pitcher ....

Seems to me this rule leaves too much grey area that could be exploited .... if the batter takes up most of the allotted time but gets in the batters box, ready to hit, but then the pitcher starts his pre pitch routine again .... is it fair to call a strike on the batter?  This looks like the case in this video .... why is the batter penalized when he was ready to hit but waiting on the pitcher? ....

The video I seen the batter was in the box cocked and ready to go. Maybe he stalled before the camera got on him but IMO you don't let a game end on something like that.

Agree with you 100%. And again, from the time the last pitch was thrown, to the ump calling him out, was not that long.
