VonG
Heath will have a great offense. I guess being the AD at Highland Park wasn't his cup of tea.
ANTI
Wonder why he left Rockwall in the first place, if he was going to up and leave Guyer?

He will have a great offense and a below average defense. Heath is going to be D1 and 10-6A is going to be competitive be he will have to get past either Duncanville or Waxahachie in the second round. Guyer was his best chance at winning a state championship. Ultimately he will end up as AD for Rockwall ISD.

MrBuddyGarrity
I'll say this: that Heath vs Rockwall game will be interesting and awkward.

You score so I can get the ball back and score some more. Yep , sounds about right. hehehehe

They gave Cedar Hill all they wanted at the old Ballpark in Arlington. I was at the game and if not for a bad kicking game they would have Won. They definitely have the players to make a run. Multiple D1 athletes each year. Coach Webb will do well, just like he has every place he’s been.

They have the players to make a run here and there, but like Grain said, they're going to have to compete against Duncanville, potentially in round 2. And if not Duncanville, depending how things go with realignment, could easily be DeSoto in round 2. Throw in an up and coming Hachie program. Just going to be ridiculously tough, and Webb's teams outside of a year here and there, have not been able to get it done against the big boys. Whether at Rockwall or Guyer. He was at Rockwall for 6 years. He had 1 State Semi-final, 1 Regional final, 1 Regional Semi-final. Guyer for 2 years and was in the State Championship game. They always play the big boys in the Dallas area. Pretty dang good if you ask me.

Not really competitive in either loss. This year’s Guyer team was the one to get it done imo, and well…that didn’t happen. But I’ll give you they actually beat some of the big boys in the post season before DeSoto surprised em. At Rockwall, outside of Allen, who did they beat in the playoffs? Even his last year at Rockwall, they got curb stomped by Duncanville. Losing by 42. Outside of that crazy 60-59 win over the Eagles (who have done nothing since), their biggest win is probably against the Woodlands down there…before they lost the next week. Throw in a 21 point loss to Lake Travis I guess if we want to brag about that? Edited March 28, 2023 by LoboFan07
MattStepp
Rockwall-Heath is likely D2 this year....Horn and Rockwall are larger now Heath may surpass Horn at some point but it may not be until 2026 I'll disagree that Guyer wasn't competitve in the two playoff losses under Webb...they lost to Cedar Hill 27-17....it was a 7 point game and Cedar Hill kicked a FG to ice it with about two and a half minutes left In the state title game in 2021 Guyer played an all-time great Westlake team better than anyone else in the state did; they led that game 21-20 late into the 3rd Qtr and then Westlake hit another gear but I honestly thought in that game Webb and his staff did a great job even keeping them in that game, much less leading into the late stages of the 3rd Qtr

Started as a small school Coach and has had a very nice Coaching career. That’s it! Nothing wrong with giving a Coach some props.

As I speak they are building 3500 homes within walking distance of Horn and they are due to be completed by 2026. They are also building 3600 homes off I-20 which will have a Mesquite address but be zoned for Forney ISD. It has the same completion date being 2026. It want effect the next realignment but things should change drastically in 2026. I suspect he will due for Heath what he did for Rockwall. They will have a D1 level quarter back each year and he will put his best players at receiver. His offenses will always be able to score points but typically his defenses can't stop top level teams. His teams have to win games in shootouts and they always get exposed when they play athletic teams. I thought that lost to Westlake was his finest coaching performance ever. Heath will be in good hands as long as he is head coach. I simply don't think he will be their longer than 2 years. 10-6A has one of the smallest enrollment numbers in all of 6A. For years the largest school in the district had 2400 students or less. It just about impossible to win a D1 title with those type of numbers.
