I was able to catch the final 3 innings on NFHS.  LE just ran out of strikes on the mound.  CS was disciplined at the plate and took what was given.  I just hate a game that close was decided by a bases loaded walk.  And to think CS was down 6-2 to Carthage in the bottom of the 7th in the Regional semi’s in an elimination game.

Magnolia West  3

Argyle   2

Argyle loses with a line shot to CF with runners on 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs in the bottom 9th.  Looked like it might be in the gap, but the CF rushed in and made the game-winning catch.  It could have been a game-winning walkoff for Argyle if he didn't get it.  Good game and good season for the young Argyle squad.  MW ends 36-3 while Argyle ends 35-11-2.  Congrats to Magnolia West for their first-ever State Championship in their first trip to the State Baseball Tournament.

The ball was hit hard and caught at the knees on a reach by the CF.  A little to the left or right and it goes to the wall.  The ball was hit by Argyle's star freshman Grady Emerson. He will have plenty more opportunities in the future.  Argyle loses 3 senior starters and a couple of senior reserve pitchers to graduation.  They will be loaded with experience and talent next season.

Was looking at Harelton's roster other day. Looked to be fairly young with more underclassmen that Jr/Srs.

Go Wildcats!!!!

Harleton loses 2 seniors, Dylan Armstrong and Braden Hopkins. The rest return. However, Armstrong was the leadoff and game 2 pitcher while Hopkins was the game 3 starter/closer. The Wildcats will have to fill the pitching hole that is being left but they have the arms to do it and the coaches to figure it out. They will be back for another deep run.
