Hallsville took sole possession of first place with their win. Whitehouse fell into a second place tie with Marshall. Longview and MP are tied for fourth place. BIG games on Tuesday: Hallsville Vs Whitehouse- Huge game against the two presumptive favorites in the district. A Hallsville win keeps the Bobcats all alone in first...while a WH loss could drop the Wildcats into a third place tie with Longview and possibly MP. Pine Tree Vs. Longview- The Lobos are coming off of back to back district losses to Hallsville and Marshall, but a win over crosstown rival PT would put keep them in the middle of the playoff chase, particularly if WH loses to Hallsville. Texas High Vs. Mount Pleasant- The Tigers saved their season with a huge win over WH Friday night. A win over MP would solidify them as a playoff team...a loss would put them in a bit of a crunch early in the district race. MP is looking to stay in the middle of the race with a win....a loss would but them on the cusp early on. Tyler Vs. Marshall- Marshall could take sole possession of second place with a win over the Lions coupled with a Hallsville win over WH. A WH win over Hallsville with a Marshall win would create a three way tie for first place. Texas High got their second win in a row to pull themselves into the playoff race. MP has tumbled in the standings all the way down to sixth. Pine Tree and Tyler round out the standings. TWO HUGE GAMES THURSDAY NIGHT: Marshall Vs. Hallsville- Always a battle. Huge rivalry game. WInner will remain in first place....either all alone or in a tie with WH depending the outcome of the Wildcat/Lobo game. The loser would fall to second place either into a tie with WH or Longview depending the outcome of the Wildcat Lobo game. Longview Vs. Whitehouse- Also a huge game. A WH win will keep the Wildcats in a first place tie with the winner of the Marshall/Hallsville game. A Lobo win would cause a tie between WH and Longview and the loser of the Marshall/Hallsville game. Texas High Vs. Pine Tree- A THS win would pull the Tigers another step closer to the playoff bubble..... no small feat considering thier 0-3 start in district play. MP got a huge upset of Hallsville to knock the Bobcats out of a first place tie and drop them into second place. WH's win over Tyler coupled with Hallsville's outcome puts the Wildcats all alone in first place. MP has sole possession of third place...only one game behind Hallsville. Marshall squeaked by PT and Texarkana throttled Longview to keep the Mavericks and Tigers tied for the fourth and final playoff berth. Longview falls to 6th place with PT and Tyler rounding out the standings. FRIDAY GAMES Marshall Vs. Texas High- HUGE battle for the final playoff berth. The winner will take sole possession of fourth place while the winner will fall to fifth. Marshall won the first game 2-1. Longview Vs. Hallsville- Always a grudge match. Hallsville is stinging from the MP loss they need a win to keep pace with WH and stay ahead of MP who is on their heels. Longview is desperate for a win to stay in the chase. Mount Pleasant Vs. Whitehouse- MP is charging towards second=place Hallsville. A win over WH would make things very interesting in the closing weeks of district play. WH would like to remain all alone in first with a win over the Tigers. Pine Tree Vs. Lady Tigers settle into second place with third place Hallsville lurking just one game behind them. Texas High appears to be firmly in control of the #4 seed with a 2 game lead over PT with 2 games left. Marshall, Longview, and Tyler round out the standings.
