Aggie98 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I'm not buying into this Gilmer sob story. When we played them last year I felt like Kilgore was the better team overall and I believe we were leading through about 2 and half quarters..... and then Gilmer got the ball to their premier athlete and pulled away from us. That's what they do, they find ways to win football games. Kilgore will not underestimate Gilmer, ever. 1

Lion7000 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I having second thoughts. I think Gilmer makes a game of this. I believe Chill is that good. No disrespect for Kilgore but they aren’t the same caliber as yellow dogs. Gilmer has some pride and shows up .
regaleagle Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I think this game is bigger than it might appear to be. Neither coaching staff wants to be 0-2 on Saturday....but maybe from different perspectives. But I do agree about maybe CH is an offensive juggernaut this season......and maybe Gilmer was not ready yet so early in the season to get the stops they needed. I definitely look for Gilmer to rely on the offense this week, and for their D to do a much better job also. I did happen to pick Gilmer in the Pick-Em this week.....just cuz it's a home game for them. All of this looks so much like the same situation Argyle finds itself in this week. I also picked Argyle in the Pick-Em this week to right the ship and put up the points to win.

Buckeyes, as of yet, don’t have that premier athlete that can turn the tide on his own, even against a superior opponent. The cupboard isn’t bare, by any stretch, but player-for-player (at least from what I saw week 1), Kilgore is a notch above, especially in the trenches. 1
d0tc0m Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 And also, Gilmer starting 0-2 won’t mean squat, because IF that happens, both losses will have come to top-tier Div. I teams that will play post-Thanksgiving. Buckeyes will be fine, regardless of the outcome, and I expect Gilmer to go three or four rounds deep too, depending on what round they line up with Carthage. 1

ReppinBeastTexas903 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I’m taking Kilgore… should be a great season for the dogs. They should’ve won last week. 2
SpaceGhost Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda... Didn't But before anyone gets wadded up... They gave Carthage all they wanted and more. Edited August 31, 2023 by SpaceGhost
upullinmychain Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Sometimes a tough loss builds that true character that a team needs going forward,if they learn from it and use it to get better it may make the difference in tough games later... we'll see i guess 1
CHEIFBLACKFOOT Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Kilgore for the Win ! They looked solid last week.

WhoamI97539 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 (edited) Just going off week 1 matchups and how each team performed I'm going to say Gilmer is fixing to see a really really good Defense this week. And not to mention that Gilmer Defense has to defend against another dual threat QB who is pretty darn good his self. If Kilgore cleans up the penalties that hurt them on Defense last week then I believe Kilgore has no issue with stopping Gilmer. Minus any turnovers from either team just gotta say Kilgore has the better Defense to stop a good Gilmer Offense. Gilmer 20 Kilgore 45 Edited September 1, 2023 by WhoamI97539 2
pigskinbobby Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Kilgore is gonna be too much. That Dawg Defense in NASTY! 1
