I think that is just the reality of small school now. It's not 1997 anymore.

That’s true. I guess it’s not always bad either. HS has 2 neighboring towns that have, or recently had long term coaches and they both have underachieved.

I mean, if the shoe fits.

I’m in agreement. DF should have 2-3 rings during this current HC tenure. Jeffy should always be able to make it passed the 2nd round but can’t for some reason. Both bleed talent.

HS will be on the upswing in all areas IMO if Coach Worley has an opportunity to run it the right way.

Don't micromanage the guy and I feel like football will come around in a couple years and the other sports will improve also. HS is a good community and deserves a solid fit. Which may very well be the case here. Time will tell.

Good Luck Mustangs

It’s on the upswing from what just left for sure!

Well, it was going to be bad either way, been going downhill for multiple years.

Just hate that it had to hit rock bottom for them.

Playoffs (last year) to 0 wins is bad. Even if it’s 4 seed off of 3 wins. The program was burnt to the ground.

They had a good stretch from 2010 - 2014.

But even from 2015 - 2019 they were still a solid them. From 2020 on they have just been beating schools like Ore City and Queen City and finishing in 4th place.

Yeah the Martinez kid was pretty good (can't remember the few years he was the lead back in that option O) as B-Back iirc

They were slot t. Very good at it as well. Think they even won a game. If it’s the guy I think it was, he was OC at HS under Ed. Which from my understanding meant OC by title.  Everything I’ve heard indicates that Ed ran the offense for his tenure.

Hired head coach from comoto be OC don’t know what Como was running on offense

That would be Coach Griffin. He was there many years. Ran Slot T. Left and went to UG, Pitt, and Como. Hasn’t seen many wins. Hope he can turn it around.

Congratulations to Hughes Springs on hiring a heck of a baseball coach. I have no doubt he will do big things for the Mustangs! Great coach and great family!

Any advice for Hughes Springs. Atlanta was worse than pickled TobinFrost a few years back and seem to be back on track.

I promise the guy that they're getting will pour his heart and soul into it. My son has been being coached by him since he was 5. Great people.
