Tyler High Vs Mesquite Horn

No way does JT beat Horn this year. You’re gonna face a true dual threat QB and a super fast defense. This game has not been competitive since JT beat Horn by 5pts in 2012. Every game since then has been a blowout one way or the other. I'm gonna say Horn 38  JT 21 @Grainraiser I need you here to explain this buddy!!

well....I guess this game went a little different than most expected...including me. This actually ended up being JT's largest margin of victory (I know by only 1 point)

Honestly JT hasn't played a great game yet...at least on offense.  Another turnover this game that cost points...and too many delay of games, mistakes on field goals...etc.

Its clear the def is way better than it has been in the past 5 yrs if not more. Offense line play is also much better. I can see a clear improvement for this team but they still have a long way to go.

I think it was a good win...but maybe Horn was overrated. Who knows. But they have more wins than last yr so its already a better season.  Good luck to Horn going forward.

Please get on here explain what Horn put on display tonight bc that kid is not a true dual threat 😂 he can’t throw worth a 💩 He got loose on some busted plays but he never hurt us on the ground or through the air except for his one TD. Also Horn has a bunch of dummies for coaches. No way that QB should’ve still been in the game with under 4 minutes to go in the 4th. It was a 2 score game and he was limping bad and got hit pretty good again suffering more injury for some garbage time stats. The QB is young and highly inaccurate.

Tyler..wow impressive, impressive win...Horn's really good and sounds like Tyler proved everyone wrong...

I said that Coach Woods would slow the game down. The way the Defense held Horn in check.

Well congrats to JT on the win. I'm in Vegas so I am just now getting to a computer. I did not watch the game but based on box score it appears Horn could not stop JT running game while JT stopped Horns running game. Turnovers and penalties were even. JT put up 21 in the second quarter which was the different. The games are played on the field not on paper. Hard pill to swallow but the better team won.

Well I just watched the game so I will offer my opinion. Neither of these teams are very consistent on offense. Neither has a real strong passing game. The difference in the game is JT got the big plays in the running game and they capitalized on the Horn mistakes inside the red zone. Here is my break down.

1. Horn first score came on a scoop and score after a long run by JT.

2. JT first score came after Horn hold them to a 4th and 6 in the red zone. Horn jumps offside twice to and give JT a first down and a short score.

3. Horn overthrows a easy slant route and misses the field goal to walk away with no points.

4. McPhall takes off for a 80 yard score.

5. Horn gets into the red zone and jumps offsides. It kills the drive takes them out of field goal range.

6. JT quarter throws a perfect long pass for a touchdown.

7. Legend throws a strike and then runs it in right before the half.

8. Horn gets a stop in the red zone but roughs the kicker on field goal attempt. JT then scores on a short run.

Horn dumb penalties in the redzone cost them 14 points which was difference in this game. JT had some dumb personal fouls but it did not cost them points. JT held Horns offense to one touchdown which was impressive. Both teams are very young and they played like it.

The offense is extremely young in the skills positions. But they are getting more comfortable every week, the receiving game needs work, but slowing getting better. We are really small at receiver but they are aggressive and can jump up and get it! Not having our starting running back cooper the last 2 weeks has given guys like Mcmiller and Arriaga valuable playing time and I love it. Also don’t think woods philosophy is to be a flashy offense that scores 40+ a game I think he is ok with the 24-14, 28–21 type of games against really good teams, and I’m ok with that as long as you get the win.

Is it correct that your QB is just a freshman.

Also the starting RB Ariaga is a sophomore, the backup RB that went down after that 68 yard run is a freshman and #18 Sirles (slot WR) who had a TD is a sophomore.
