Gilmer @ Paris

Paris has some good athletes. They have good speed on the outside. They have a refreshed scheme that suits their athletes better. But they just don't have the horses to run with Gilmer.

Celina gave up a score to Paris on the first drive of the game, and then the Wildcats couldn't really do anything after that. Meanwhile, the Bobcats just kinda bullied Paris around, offensively. We were able to throw the ball and use a bruising run game to work up and down the field.

If Gilmer comes in focused, after starting 0-2, they'll win this easily. But if there's any hangover from those first two losses, Paris will find a way to keep this interesting for the first couple quarters. Eventually, though, Gilmer's athleticism across the board will take over, and the Buckeyes will win comfortably when the clock reads zeros.

I still contend that Paris will make the playoffs this year, though, and the Wildcats will be a tough out come week 4 or 5, when they get in a good rhythm with that new offense.

You forgot to mention Celina O line dominated Paris from the fist play until the subs went in.

They did. It was a glaring, glaring difference in the game. Paris's defensive line is pretty quick, but they're small. Celina's o-line is massive AND athletic. They've bullied everybody through two weeks.

I don't know how big Gilmer is in the trenches, but if they've got some beef, they need to lean on it and take advantage of that this week.

Gilmer has a pretty big O line this year.  And of course, they’ve got 2 or 3 players that can take it to the house on any play.

To me the key will be how Gilmer handles the Kilgore loss.  It was a game I’m sure many of the players thought they had in the bag at 17-7, and thought they should have won. Emotionally, that can take a toll on a team.  If Gilmer is flat, I could see a scenario where things go south in a hurry.  But I could also see Gilmer going up to Paris and laying 50+ on them.  Time will tell.

At this moment if I was Paris, I would focus on the run. After the first 2 games, I would make Tennison beat me with his passing. I have been surprised with the lack of passing and completions Gilmer has this year. Paris always has some freak athletes, but I have not seen them play this year so not sure what they bring to the game. I think Gilmer will win this in the form of 35-21.

Paris still has some great athletes. But not a ton of depth. Buckeyes ought to pull away by more than 14 when all is said and done.
