You mean that they play "2 smaller schools". Similar to Shelbyville playing schools in a lower classification such as Alto. Center also plays larger schools like North Desoto. Center also competes in a 4AD2 district where they are the highest scoring team in the District and averaged 53 points per game last year that included "blow outs over Van, Canton, Bullard, Brownsboro and Liberty-Eylau in the playoffs.

How bout them losses though....

North desoto is the same size as center both right around 800

Center always plays smaller schools pre district. Just look at their schedule the past several years…. Center may be technically 4AD2 but the participation from their athletes is more like 3a….. Large portion of their enrollment is Hispanic …. Center has 6 or so special athletes but to compete at their division you need double that number. Coach Meeks is making strides at turning that program in right direction but it takes time to get evbody bought in and it also helps if a few better athletes from surrounding areas would “purple up” as well…..year in and year out the teams that are consistently dominant have few transfers that aren’t home grown kids… that’s not throwing dirt on any program but it’s just facts

Agreed. Longview, Kilgore, Chapel Hill, etc also always plays smaller schools. It is a common occurrence for teams in East Texas and other rural areas to play teams below and above their classification.

We don't care how big yall are. We schedule schools like yall to get better. Our size doesn't affect us like most small schools playing schools 3 times their size

Historically Center has played smaller schools in pre district.

And any example with Shelbyville is a poor one.

They don't even have enough participation to consistently field a JV team. They might have played 6 JV games in the last 5 years or so, and half of those they played Jr's and Sr's to even have enough.

Shelbyville is a hot mess, and just a whisk away from being completely irrelevant in football.

That's not taking a jab at the coaching staff either! The problems have been there long before the current one.

It's been much of the same for the last 20 years or so! Just look at the constants and there in lies the problem(s)

Agreed, “historically” almost all schools in rural areas play smaller schools and larger schools”. Center is no different.

6 special athletes? Naw fam, you aint gettin away with that. We been playing yall for years. Center is loaded with athletes year in and year out....Center got a bunch of studs this year. That whole offense should play D1 College ball. Yall need to drop that big school mentality. Yall are in 4A D2 now. Play them studs both ways.....all of em. Aint nobody running on yall with yalls LT at NG. Dixon and the other back at LB. Cross at safety.....WRs at CB. Fill in with what yall got starting now as depth when they get tired and need a breather. Start winning games 42-14 instead of shootouts in the 60s and 70s. Yall got the talent year in and year out sir....mindset needs to change. The talent on defense does not match the talent on offense.....and it could. Athletes make plays. But what the hell do I know? I'm an oilfield hand.
