Not hardly! I've been watching them since 2007.  I'm not from Carthage, but have family who live there. I'm 49 years old and don't have a dog in the fight. I was raised up on highschool football. I have the luxury of being able to attend what I hope to be the best games from week to week. I've been there for a lot of the Carthage games and respect a winning program. I live in Pittsburg, so there's not much to see here! Lol

Don’t feed the troll my friend.  He typically buries himself in a big steamy pile of poo.

JV game was brutal. Carthage JV hasn't been able to score in 3 of 4 games I believe. I think I counted 23 kids dressed out last night.
Marshall JV was good. They dominated in the trenches and ran the ball at will.

Not much they can do when 15 sophomores are on the varsity. That group of sophomores are super talented.  But the ones on the JV are getting a ton of playing time.
Go JV Dawgs, stay tuff and work hard and get better.

So unlike Carthage. The dawgs win at every level. I am convinced it the C .

I’m a Maverick fan 100% but after so many years of playing Longview and several years against Carthage it just seems like Marshall is afraid of these to teams. You get your tail end handed to you year after year you get it in your head your beat before you ever take the field. The bad part is there are teams in 4A and 5A that play these two teams and make games out of them that I know Marshall could beat. With that year after year Marshall lays down. Both these teams need to be dropped from preseason.

get this trash out of your heads and go out and make a game of it MAVS.

Someone has to change that mentality. Marshall has the athletes year after year. Sadly, it feels like every time a coach makes headway, they leave. Clint Harper beat Longview but left before he could try to make it a regular occurrence

Same with Marshall most seasons. It’s generally the thinnest of all of the teams. Talented players will skip JV and move on to varsity.

We currently have 5 sophomores on offense on varsity.  Not sure about defense.

5 sophomores on offense? I hereby amend my previous statement about it being hard to envision Marshall scoring more than 2 TDS tonight to more than 1 touchdown.

My prediction is CHS 31, Marshall 10.

Right now all we are teaching these players in 50% of their preseason games is how to lose big. Is it just me are is this not very productive heading into district?

I'm sorry but that was a blatant opi on that td pass. Stiff armed the dB. Yea it was an offsides free play, but that's what gets me about Carthage.  They get away with murder.

The Mavs QB had a sure TD on the deep pass and threw it out of bounds. You can’t score of the ball isn’t catchable.

The long ball is not his strength.  Yet we continue to try 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️. He’s wildly inaccurate/ inconsistent with long passes.

His strength is short quick passes. He can be deadly.

Yet we continue to try

Carthage is successful on those 50/50 deep balls because they throw them often.  The Marshall QB needs to set his feet and square up.  He acts like he’s expecting to get hit and has happy feet.  😂
