That was described to me that way by someone and it made sense. They have about 5 players that could play varsity football. The others are not varsity caliber. Some haven't played a whole lot of football. BUT, the kids play hard despite the athletic ability and talent. A lot of players are playing a position they wouldn't be playing in other situations or circumstances. When changes happened at the administrative level a couple of years ago, the varsity level players left and then you had the tragic incident that happened that cost them 3 more varsity level players. The coaches are doing all they can with what they have. I commend the coaches, and I can't commend the kids enough for how they come out every game and give it all they can in spite of the difference in talent and number of players participating. I'll support the team the rest of the way because they play hard with what they have. Go Jackets!

I think this will be the battle of two JV teams, Waskom has one starter back on offense and two on defense both teams are going through the hard knocks of being young.

Coach ETX 1991
This Rivarly game has interesting over the last 6 or 7 years, As of now Waskom currently still leads the series I don't know who leads the overall series or The who leads is, 13 miles separates these 2 Hated Ach Rivals on FM 9 and FM451, looking on the Lonestar football network website this rivalry is pretty much even EF dominated this rivalry from 06 to 2012 Waskom dominated from 2012 to 2015 with EF wining in 2016,2017 up to now Waskom has dominated the series EF and Waskom also played twice in 2020 EF win 28-21 break Waskom's undefeated District Streaks and in the playoffs at Lobo Stadium Waskom escaped with a 44-41 win don't know what to expect Friday night with 2 teams that are going in opposite directions this is going to be interesting to see what happens, I'm going to have my eyes on the Friday Football app to see how this game turns out ,Your going need A lot of Harrison County security at this Rivarly game on Friday Night , I compare the Waskom and EF Rivarly to US and Troup back in the Hay Days of 70s to 80s and 90s and Early 2000s and 2010s. mavfanpanamacity
Amazing that you have 1-5, 0-5 EF has been outscored 211-35 through that 0-5 record Waskom like 207-171, not as bad could fans of both teams lets say 3 years ago, see anything like this happening I don’t see Waskoms fall as near as steep as EFs But I know the EF community was warned time and time again by some community members that this day was coming the way the administration and board were running things they believed you could just roll out the football and win 7 games no matter the coach or his staff I know that they had a tragedy this off-season, but the mass exodus of kids to Marshall and Carthage the past 18 months is something that was warned about But being all that as it is, nobody could have seen it go down hill like this Kids are being questioned by the superintendent about their experience in the program the past year and 1/2 Selective enforcement of team rules Just all kinds of craziness I hope something happens to change things I have several friends that have kids down there and it doesn’t sounds good Few have asked should they move their kids to Marshall (younger kids like jr high age) I said give it a chance, it has to get better Sometimes when you move the situation gets worse for you Hopefully it will be a good game this week it’s been too good of a rivalry I have heard some things on the Waskom side also about the direction of the program, but the ones I have contact seem to have some optimism that things will work itself out Just a lot of youth unfortunately I was told that several more JV players hung it up at EF as they have only played 1 game numbers are bad and they have moved some up to the varsity But unlike Waskom, the pipeline doesn’t look near as good Maybe if the enrollment continues in the direction it has been going the past 5 years or so, EF can move to 2A and have some success good luck to both squads Friday night on a clean and injury free game
Valhalla
The only game that Waskom has been blown out is against Timpson. They are like 5 points away from being 3-2. I don’t think things are as bleak for them as the record shows.

With EF this might be the worst team I seen EF field in years, but they are very young, this is not the worst Waskom team I have seen, there has been plenty of them come through, dropping down is not always a plus the last time we where at the 2A level 2009 we went 0-10.. If I was going to find something that needs a lot of work I would say Waskom defense, they can't stop anyone, we have scored enough points to be 4-1 but the defense can't hold anyone. We are not very big on the D line and get pushed around.

Unfortunately, the people that can do anything think everything is good. They have their heads in the sand. And the ones still at EF asking to transfer somewhere else, they better stay put at EF, because they aren’t getting on the field anywhere else. If the cutout numbers stay the same as 2 years ago or increase, EF will be dropping to 2A.
