I gotcha.

from about 2008 to 2018 under Coach Rush and Coach Holmes were special too.  I would say they brought Cujo back.  Three Semi-final and three 4th round appearances during that time frame is just a step below the Cujo time you talked about.

you never know how things shake out, with Aledo probably going up either this yr or in 2 yrs and if others schools stay up, its possible JT could make deep playoff runs again.  They will have a solid team on paper over the next couple of yrs. Lets see how that goes.  But I do agree, that deep talent pool is probably not coming back.  Too much has changed.

Well this is just me but...2008-2018 I don't remember not noun player from them teams. They prolly were good. The the real CUJO years...the Fred Talley getting his head knocked completely off at Rose stadium...that's CUJO!

That was Darrell Asbell delivering that blow.

Greg Ward, Fred Ross, Jeremy Johnson....

but I get. Cujo was about that Def.

Times have changed, its about the spread offense now.

I know some people had a problem with the way Coach Woods was calling plays and the fact that he didn’t do 7on7. When he first started at TH. Looking at his first season as a whole are something that needs to be worked on and what has gotten better?

is the way they play football in Oklahoma going to be able to be translated into football here in East Texas?

I feel bad for this senior class. I just knew watching them in middle school that they were destined for greatest. Moore and Boulter 24 class combined was supposed to lead JT back to the promise land. I find it ironic that this class has only made the playoffs once in their 4 years of high school. If you would have told me this 5 years ago. JT will only make the playoffs once with this class. I would have called said person the dumbest person on earth. It's really a shame they couldn't put the pieces together.

Remember it like yesterday...

Memory serves me correctly, both Moore and Boulter were insanely good. In fact, didn't Boulter beat Moore when this group was in 8th? And there were some on here saying Franklin was actually a better QB than Hampton coming up, now what in the world ever happened to him?

Players like Hampton, McFall, Williams out of Moore...

Sanford out of Boulter...

Looking over old posts, I was saying that JT would be a problem starting these players JR years because of solid SRs like Wade. I remember you saying that the talent that was coming up at the time....you hadn't seen it in Tyler in a long time.

Hampton was on the verge of being the next great JT QB, McFall had a big future at RB....

Well Hampton started getting mobile as soon as his 8th grade year was over....ultimately ended up being an all world DB instead of QB.

With Miller doing what he was doing at Lee, I remember conversations about JT having their own beast in the backfield coming up in McFall. But Holmes mismanaged McFall greatly IMO, and we never really got to see the great career McFall couldve had at RB.

Although players like Williams and Sanford did get recruited, I dont think they reached the potential that they were on the verge of hitting. If only you get Woods there sooner.

Crazy how things turned out. Wasted class.

3 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals, and other playoff appearances multiple top ten and top 5 state rankings, multiple district title and you don’t remember any players lol.

I think from the outside looking in Coach Woods and his staff did a great job year one going from 2-8 to 6-4...like any good staff you'd hope they would do some self-evaluation and see areas they could have improved etc...I talked to Coach Woods about 7on7 this summer and I think they'll do it some this year, he didnt want to do it this year because they were still learning/installing systems etc..

Realignment is going to be big, if Tyler gets the projection that I have its probably a worst case scenario...but there aren't a ton of great options at the moment so Tyler's just gonna have to step things up to compete

Who are you thinking will be some of the schools moved into the ET district? IE DeSoto and Highland Park.

20 is forny. Until you get close to Bucee’s. It’s more in town where all the houses are going up.

Being in the a 7 team district will make things a little easier but, schools that they think will be in district with Cujo will make it very hard again to make the playoffs. Shooting for third spot wouldn’t be out of the question. The fact that TH will be only ET team feels like the district will try and do them dirty when it comes to making decisions about having to reschedule games for bad weather or something. Like the coin flip that Lufkin did with Ennis that one year.
