Don’t let the record scare you. Teams don’t there usually play honeysuckle high and pleasant boys and girls ect…. Lindale is very capable. El campo, Splendor, Houston team’s always have came in big boy records to only meet #Beast Tx.

Iowa Colony is the real deal.  Speed everywhere and very athletic.  Their Freshman QB stands about 6-1 and can take it to the house at any time. They have speed burners deluxe.....so once in the open field they can pick up huge chunks.  That QB is very accurate throwing it too.  Their defense is decent and coming along.....but their offense can control the ball and move the chains on anybody.  This is only my personal opinion from watching video games of them playing recently.  They have talented skill players.

Iowa Colony is quite good. 2nd year school, still no senior class. They’re very scrappy, and they have speed everywhere. Offense is explosive and fairly well balanced, and while the defense can be porous at times, they have knack for getting turnovers. One somewhat concerning thing about IC is that multiple times this season they’ve had to come from behind to get the win. They seem to have a tendency to start a little slow, but there isn’t a lead that is safe against them. I think this will be a very, very fun game.

I have posted this already on other threads but, after watching some of their games i don’t see anything just amazing about Iowa Colony. They do have speed and the defense can be stout at times but they don’t look any tougher than CH or some of the other teams Lindale has beat this year. Just my opinion and I could be completely wrong but I think Lindale takes this one

If y’all can hang with Kilgore and Chapel Hill, which y’all beat then anyone else is gonna have to bring their A game. Like I said 11-0 isn’t that scary considering who they played.

Good thing Lindale is used to playing athletic teams with speed! I think IC should be just as concerned about playing us as we are of them. I’m expecting a tough game. But how much has IC been tested going 11-0?

I see the exact same thing. IC is very much an unknown for a couple factors - new program and haven't seem to play anyone really tough this year. I'm not taking anything away from Bay City or Needville, both good teams, but they all played to each other within a few points. Is IC a little better than both, yes, I think they are. They beat both and both games were very close with IC beating BC on the last play of game when BC made a really dumb mistake by going for it....... SMH. Also, they are a young team, Freshman QB with no seniors. What will they do when they get into a tough battle and get hit in the mouth by a big strong O-line that wants to grind them down? This is a fascinating game against contrasting styles. But I kind of see IC in the TCH mold, lot's of speed and play makers. I wonder how good their line play is.

This sounds like how Chapel Hill has played this year.

Early release day in Lindale?

For sure. There was a 2 hour early release yesterday and that was just in Nac. Probably a 3 hour early release for this one

Hopefully they underestimate that record lol. I assumed this a new school? Hadn’t heard of them nor know where it is.

I believe this is their 2nd or maybe 3rd year. No seniors, so may be 3rd. They are scheduled to move up to 5A-D2 and maybe even 5A-D1 next year. I can't find their enrollment numbers. But Alvin ISD seems to have a history of this, with Shadow Creek winning state in year 2 or 3 before they moved up to 6A.

Iowa Colony fan checking in - moved down south of Houston from northeast Texas 5 years ago. I've been warning the locals about the area round all season.

Regarding Iowa Colony - as others have said, no senior class yet. Beautiful brand new campus in it's second year right off Hwy 288 south of Pearland. IC has top end facilities for football - they could easily be a future powerhouse. The 288 corridor south of Houston is growing rapidly. This is Alvin ISD's 4th high school - Alvin, Manvel, Shadow Creek, Iowa Colony. The talent pool and resources are very much in line with what has been seen from Shadow Creek and Manvel in recent years. I live a few minutes from Alvin ISD's Freedom Field, which they share with Manvel and Shadow Creek. It's one of those modern Texas monoliths to high school football.

A deep playoff run would be ahead of schedule this year for sure. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go deep the next two years similar to Shadow Creek recently (we'll see how realignment treats them with a full campus next year). I suspect Lindale fans will be impressed by the freshman QB, Carson White. He's already a stud. The Pioneers have very good team speed. The offensive line is bigger and better than they should be lacking Seniors. Opposing teams have been able to run on them. They're stronger against the pass on defense and will intercept the football and otherwise generate turnovers. This isn't a team you get up on and try to milk the clock. They'll use speed blitzes from the edge to get negative yardage plays if you stop threatening them with the pass.

They've been fun to watch this year. That come from behind win over Needville in Week 11 to secure the district championship was a heck of a football game. Needville's another one of those quickly growing suburbs outside of Houston.

Thanks for the analysis, we all appreciate that. I expect this game to be an absolute BANGER. Should be good.

Katy paetow was the most recent one a two year school that won state moved up a class and went 2-8 this year. Kinda impressive seeing a school come so far after starting up.

I wouldn’t count on IC’s lack of seniors to be a tally against them. They seem to wear their youth as a badge of pride. I think this game is likely a shootout with IC putting it away in the 4th quarter.
