They play a lot of players both ways. Their QB is going to be making a lot of tackles. P G QB does play both ways a lot……What other players play most of the game both ways ?

I’d like to see Graves run the ball with the starting o line. I haven’t seen him play with anything but the backups and it’s usually a run up the middle. Can’t tell how good he is with the back up o line.

He did get some carries with the first unit against San Antonio Cornerstone - #0 and #4 were nursing injuries ……think he scored a TD that game.

Like @cotton84 said he's just small in stature. And this coming with him missing his whole 8th grade season with a bad wheel.

Well no wonder that’s the one game I missed this year. Maybe we will see him tonight in some first half action if we get a big lead.

Probably gonna hit that growth spurt this coming summer him just being a freshman

Ummm...Duncanville Lufkin or Longview Springhill panthers? I need to know how I to respond to this...

blackflag79 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Carthage is definitely the team to beat. As for anybody beating them..., it's tough to say for sure. Personally, I don't think so, but there have been years where Region 2 was down as a whole, and a Region 3 or Region 4 team can play with them. It's a rarity, but it does happen. I say all that to say this: don't count your chickens before they hatch. Other than the Kilgore game, Carthage hasn't really faced any adversity to speak of.

He would've had to wait his senior year to be the man. Longview is loaded for the next 7 years at RB That and his pops is a Carthage legacy. When me and you were talking a while back, we knew we'd lose somebody at RB with all the RBs we had coming up the ranks. Man we had so much going on, we joked that we should switch to the T formation. The room was loaded, still is without Graves. Judson had him and Henry on the same team! And Henry was killing it on the 9th level this year before he got injured. We haven't seen speed like his since probably Tory White. A look ahead after Taylor Tatum....between Boosie Washington, Mason Washington, Henry Johnigan and AJ McGee (could end up being the best Longview has seen)...that's 4 college level RBs right there the next few years. I liked Graves, solid talent but I like those that want to be Lobos more. And you know not everybody is made for that Lobo life.
bansheefan03 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Well good thing about being in carthage is unlike in longview he could move out to slot and still get plenty of touches prolly just about as many as starting rb

We moved our 2nd RB (Washington) out wide. He would start at every school in East Texas not name Longview. He has been killing it in the slot and where ever he lined up. Hell, he had an almost 200 yard receiving game when Tatum had almost 200 yards rushing. Longview knows how to get good players the ball...
BigFanOf22 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 I am waiting for realignment this will add some big name to 4A D2 including a few teams that can hang with Carthage.. China Spring and La Vega should be moving down next year.
