I have loved watching #2 J’Koby Williams play for Beckville. I am glad he wore blue.

With that being said I’m not a fan of our coach and feel we got out coached AGAIN in a big game. We have watched Cody Ross run #2 ragged for multiple seasons. We need a change. We had multiple all state linemen and the best athlete to ever come through beckville plus several other “dudes” and Ross can’t win with them? Man he needs to go. Just my opinion.

Great game Garrison.

Williams is special, man he was fun to watch..Beckville just had no one else who could do anything save for J'Koby tonight...they tried running 32 and 9 and there just wasn't anything there...a lot of what Willliams did was simply him being great..Garrison's front seven had their way IMO

Here we go, calling for the coach’s head. This didn’t take long. #2 is amazing. The rest are just ok ftball players. Nobody else besides #2 had a run longer than 5yds….Playing weaker competition all year inflates stats and expectations. The teams that have knocked Bville out the past few years are good teams….They’ve had More than one good player. And it’s been the defense that’s let Bville down in recent years and not the offense. Tackling athletes in space has led to Bville downfall. It showed again last nite…. That’s an athlete problem, not a coaching problem…. Cats had a good year and got as far as they should have, given the match ups and playoff route.

Unfortunately, the reality is that Garrison was basically picked across the board.  I'm not sure there is much else that could've been done..as close as Beckville was Garrison was just better, I watched the game.

I did not see multiple all state linemen, and If it were me I would have run #2 ragged as well.  Let's face it, it's 2A football, you don't NORMALLY have more than that without people constantly moving in.  You can say what you want but it wasn't just coaching in this one and I'm sure you weren't calling for his head when they were scoring 92 and 74 in games against teams like Hawkins and Ore City.  Like he said in the other post, that definitely leads to unreal expectations and sometimes a false sense of security.

Agree. I would have ran #2 every play.  I felt like they lost to Joaquin last year because they didn't get him the ball enough.

We went to the playoff game last year at SFA to watch this "stud" from Beckville and they never gave him the ball. When they did, he scored. Joaquin got the win.

They should have ran #2 more last night. I thought they gave away a play every series giving it to #32. Sure, he got a few yards, but was not a scoring threat. Teams that rely heavily on one player to win games have to rely heavily on one player to win games.

#2 except  for Terry Bussey in this area will be the best athlete on the field. But to say his is the only athlete that Beckville has is not accurate.  9 20 7 32 14 in 2A ball a way above average players. 14 is 6' 6" and a less than 5' 8" player on him all night. Zero safety over the top. He has caught alot passes. Got 2 screen pass to him  all night.

Not bashing any coaching or players but to give 2 some relief you needed to pass. Team speed for Garrison is lacking except for a few players. Should have put it in the air more IMO. Garrison is a strong team that will grind you down. That what they did.

Timpson relies heavily on Bussey when they are in a tight spot. Bussey beat Dangerfield and Garrison. The ball in #2's hands gave Beckville their best chance to win.

I don't know how you would get the ball to Williams any more than they did last night, they snapped it to him every play .... they didn't use the players around him very well .... a one man team eventually runs up against a defense that makes enough stops to get you beat ....

Well, Beckville is very much a one man team.  If #2 can't win it for them, no one else is going to either.

#2 last night was quite the player, but to say Beckville was a one man team is far from the truth.

Those young men stood toe to toe with us and gave us everything we could take. But, at the end of the night we came out on top. This time of the year that's what happens , two good teams match up, but only one can move on. Great Job Beckville, a very classy act. Proud of our guys for staying the course. Love my Bulldogs

Here is my thoughts.  Beckville has #2 phenomenal athlete. Give him every chance to win a game. Use the other athletes in some way to help.  Garrison is a good team. Big strong a very few mistakes.  If Beckville was to beat them they would need help from Garrison.  Fumble more penalties etc. That didn't happen best team won. Long story short Beckville a solid team. To beat Garrison things would have to be perfect for Beckville and bad for Garrison.

Timpson favorite

Garrison solid

Cooper solid

Beckville not as good as above.

Beckville is good in basketball no time better to start than now.

I didn't mean to take anything away from Beckville. They are a very good team and 10-2 is a great year. I wouldn't have been upset or surprised if they won. They might win that game nine times out of ten. I just meant that they have a very gifted athlete on that team that really helps them win games. He leads the team overwhelmingly in rushing td's, rushing yards, passing td's, and passing yards. There's nothing wrong with that.
