Regional Semifinals Winnsboro vs. Whitney 11/24

Had this one circled for several weeks after Whitney lost to Grandview. The Wildcats will bring a strong passing game with multiple receivers on the outside. QB is crafty and will sling it around. RB is small in stature but strong and quick. Dont be satisfied Rugged Red.

Chevy, Whitney will present y’all some problems in the passing game but JMO I don’t think they can slow down the Red Raiders on offense. Play like y’all did last night and y’all will advance

I think that will definitely be a point of emphasis this week and i know our incredible coaches will have the boys prepared.

Winny by 14.  Winny is going to be tough to stop because their offense is so balanced. The Teague game was a perfect example:

Passing-310 yards

Rushing-386

Puts a lot of pressure on the defense. As a DC do you scheme to stop one or the other or just try to play a base defense and hope for the best?? We will see what Whitney chooses Friday.

Any particular reason like strengths that you think are superior or just your favorite team? Just curious because I know absolutely nothing about them.

QB #10 is a crafty lefty that can spin it pretty well. Has 4 solid receivers led by #1 and #88. #2 and #6 will also contribute. RB #32 is a spark plug that is very twitchy and a strong runner. #22 also comes in as a change of pace big bruising back. They like to play uptempo if they can and try to get you out of position

The QB reminds me of a kid that played for Lampasas back in 2019 (I think) named Ace Whitehead.  He went on to play baseball at UT.  Looks like a gamer on the limited film I’ve watched.  Will take a solid defensive effort to limit the Whitney passing game.

Hard to really get a read on how good they are because of their district being pretty weak. Other than Grandview and Whitney the talent level falls off quickly. After the Zebras (who won the district) defense gave up over 40 points and West was beaten by Teague I'm just not sure Whitney has seen a quality defense that pursues and hits like Winny's does. Winny's defense doesn't get the press like their offense does but those guys are extremely talented and love to hit. Should be fun to watch how it unfolds!!!

The SOS certainly does work in their favor, but with the exception of GV they have beaten everyone else.

I don’t think Whitney’s receivers are better than the receivers that the Winny secondary sees at practice everyday. Whitney’s recievers seem a little more sloppy than winnsboros receivers. Their defense won’t stop Winnsboros. Give me Winny by 28+

Also does anyone have Finneys total stats on the season? Can’t find the totals anywhere.

I'm sure Ms. Sheila that takes the pics and has the stats after every game has those. She has a great FB page that she posts pics and information...you might ask her on that page. I would like to see them also. I know that the defense was averaging giving up 7 points a game before the Teague game. That included all the games and all the quarter of the games so a lot of the scores were when the subs were in late in the game.

Have to give a big shout out to Kaufman ISD, beautiful stadium and the video board is awesome. Looking forward to next week getting back.

I was gonna ask if Kaufman made some stadium updates because they've gotten some playoff action this year...I went there in 2019 and it was a nice stadium but didnt strike me a playoff destination....
