I just watched the Texarkana Gameday feed of the game on NFHS and I have to say that they did a very good job of calling the game. You could tell they would have liked to see a different outcome but didn’t stoop to being complete homers like some announcers in the past. Hats off to them.

I don’t care what anybody says. PG does not have 8 “legit” D1 players. They have some studs for 4a DII ball. Great HS players. But thats it. Maybe a couple guys will be impact players on the D1 level, but statistics say probably not.

Arkansas, Alabama, Baylor, TCU, are just four I can name. Go to PG athletic department and see them all.

Like I said. PG does not have 8 “legit” DI players. Some of those kids might be getting looks and might even make it 4 years at a DI university, but statistics say otherwise. I don’t care what their twitter timeline or PG athletic department say. National signing day is coming soon. Let’s see. There won’t be any questions. If they have 8 guys sign letter of intent to play for DI universities then I will admit I was wrong.

Ok State

If PG has 5 players that will play for Arkansas, Alabama, Baylor, TCU and OK State then they should be playing up in 6a. Sounds like Desoto or Northshore to me.

I think the term D1 is used a lot and means different things to different people.  In this instance, PG has 8 kids on their roster with at least one D1 football scholarship.  What does that mean in the grand scheme of things?  I don’t know.

Ok, I can agree to that. A lot of guys all over ETX that look good with their shirts off sporting a 6 pack that run a 4.5 forty. Very few are D1 “football” players.

Here you go. PG has 4 kids that will sign with Power 5 schools…Johnson - AR, Hackleman - OSU, McFadden - Duke, and Jackson - ?. Boardley de-committed from OSU, not sure if he plays Power 5 football or not. He did receive an AR State offer. After that, a few have DIII, DII or FCS offers. There are a lot of schools that are D1, but not all are part of the Power 5 conferences.

See my previous posts. I stand on what I said. National signing day is coming soon.

It they have 3 kids that will sign P5, that is very impressive! Why the need for everybody to overstate and say PG has 8-9 D1 players? I just don’t get it.

Basically was!  Thank God for them refs!  Seriously though, nothing but respect for the PG players.  They played their butts off and gave my Dawgs all they wanted and then some!  Great game between 2 great teams with lots of great players.  Bring on them Bux!

Schools can pull their offers. I have not heard anything to believe that they have. I believe the 3 seniors are early enrollees so they plan on signing and leaving in January.

Tulsa and AR State are D1. I think some other kids have had offers from those type of schools. A lot of people think everyone is D1 nowadays. I tend to focus on kids that can play Power 5 football.

Remember the linebackers are young, a lot of misdirection with inexperience can show it’s head, I do think the D-Line is good, but I have also seen them take many of plays off, if we are to play Belleville it will test them. They are going to come right at you. To me eye test wise, they are bigger than GR O-line from last year.

I will admit, knowing our starters haven’t played the whole game most of the season and usually get 3rd/4th quarter off could lead some to believe they can’t handle a whole game but Carthage proved yesterday that, when it’s necessary for them to play the whole game, they can. Great job DAWGS🐾

I totally agree. Ran out of thumbs up

I'm watching this game for the first time right now. KJ Edwards is some kind of special.

You are correct.   Being as he is just a soph, good chance he gets bigger and/or faster.

I don't know if it's possible to get any faster, lol.

That’s what a D1 football player looks like as a sophomore!! PG didn’t have any of those dudes. Best player on the field and he is probably only 15 years old!

No they don’t.  A post just named (Johnson Ark, McFadden Duke, Hackleman OK St. Jackson ?). That is 4, not 8.    Name the others please?   Don’t say Boardley, he didn’t de-commit, we all know why they withdrew the offer.

Wheeler has been offered by Missouri State and Lamar. They are D1, not Power 5. Boardly does have an offer from Arkansas State. They are D1 too, not Power 5. I don’t even know who the other ones would be.
