Actually only went to Gilmer a few years when young, mother is from Texarkana. When her and the boys  father split, they moved back.

You know on smoaky theres quite a few who think they are a move in if they weren't born in the local hospital....

What a game this will be (I think). PG has some absolute guys playing but lack depth. By that I mean they have studs and average kids. I have not seen Carthage play in person this year, but I have seen PG a few times. Some take always for what it’s worth. While I understand it was the 1st game if the year, PG offensive line struggled with Brock’s big DL. The OL for PG is undersized and the QB will be on the move frequently. Brock flat beat PG up front. I cannot think of a DL that PG has seen with that size and physicality since week 1. This could be a big problem for the Hawks on Friday. The QB can try to do too much at times, and I have seen him lose the ball multiple times in the process. Turn the ball over Friday, you get beat. Just get positive yards or throw it away to keep the drives alive. That being said, the QB and RB are dynamic and will make plays. The DL from PG is big, fast, and physical. They really seem to play disciplined and not over pursue. If PG wins I wouldn’t be surprised, but if Carthage pulled away in the 4th I also wouldn’t be surprised. Can’t wait for this one.

Name another district that has 6 starters that have moved into the district as 9th graders or later?   Let’s be real!   There is nothing wrong with move ins but you guys have to stop defending it.

Who from PG is defending move-ins or transfers? I have not seen it on here. The only folks that have an issue with it on this forum are from other Texarkana schools.

You're correct.  Landon and Layton both played 6th grade football in PG, so Lance would have been even younger than them

Landon moved back to PG on the 7th grade

He played PGYA before he was in middle school.  He and Layton were both on my son's team.  My son was a 6th grader and he is a year younger than my son.  The picture is Layton and Landon playing DE.  #5 and #15

I disagree with this. I think Carthage gets "out-athleted" fairly often. I think that the size and toughness in the trenches and the job of the coaching staff makes up for it. And, as I have said many times, what Surratt and company get out of the "non-star" players on their teams is where they set themselves apart.
Also, the term D1 gets thrown out there a lot, but there's a pretty huge difference between an offer from Georgia and an offer from Sam Houston.

I don’t think we get out athleted fairly often, actually rarely do.  We’ll just have to agree to disagree on that topic.

I do believe Surratt & Co are the best there is, and they have plenty of weapons on both sides of the ball every year.
