Texas High v Lovejoy - Friday 7:00 at Pirate Stadium in Longview

I think Lovejoy will score lots of points.  IMO we need to slow the game down (as Pine Tree did to us) and attack on the ground.  While Lovejoy appears to have a good defense from looking at film their front 7 does not compare with Summit's.
Texas High will have to play a near perfect game to pull this one off.  Hang onto the ball and grind out TDs.  It can be done but it will take an all-out effort and maybe a few breaks.  Lovejoy has earned their reputation.

I'm loving being in the 3rd round with a super young team.  Gotta enjoy the ride no matter the outcome.   Gotta believe !!!!

The freshman at left tackle and sophomore at left guard hopefully gained some more confidence lining up vs the D Line from Summit…the offense has been successful running behind them throughout the year but that was hard to do Friday. It’ll be tough again this week but if the two RB’s can get going I think they’ll have a chance to score some points.

It seems like they could have played this game at 🌹 Stadium. It's a 2 hr drive for both schools. You can't get no more equal distance than that.

I dont think this was a true neutral site...I think it was a home/neutral type flip with Texas High taking Longview and Lovejoy taking Mesquite....a true neutral woulda been maybe A&M-Commerce?

I guess you haven't goggled it on a map. Lovejoy high school to 🌹 Stadium is 2 hrs and 3 mins. Rose Stadium to TX High high school is 2 hrs and 6 mins. It's a shorter drive for both schools. But A and M Commerce to Lovejoy is hr. A and M Commerce to TX High is a hr and 44 mins. One is a 3 minute difference and the other one is a 45 minute difference give or take. Like I said 🌹 Stadium is as neutral as you can get for both schools. 😉

I definitely did not google...I always forget about that pesky Hwy 380 that runs into Greenville and cuts time to Commerce down quite a bit from Collin County...

I agree with Matt that Pine Tree was most likely Coach Stanford's "neutral" and he won the flip.    As soon as I heard that the PG/Carthage game was scheduled for Friday afternoon at Pine Tree I wondered about the possibility of a Texarkana doubleheader with Texas High playing at the same location so as to make things easier for Texarkana fans that might want to go support both Texarkana teams.

TH has to find a way to keep the Lovejoy receivers in front of them. If the secondary can limit the big plays, and TH can grind it out, they have shot. TH has a win against Frisco Lone start who won their 5aD1 district. TH can win this game. They will just have to play lights out.

TH 38

Lovejoy 37

That makes sense for Texarkana fans who wants to see both teams play.

I also got feeling it could be the last time Texarkana fans gets to see their teams play.

Your feeling may very well be correct, but I will be surprised if either PG or T-High decides to lay down and roll over because of the quality of the opponent on the other side of the field.

How about Sulphur Springs……shorter drive for BOTH.

I don't think either team will lie down against their opponents. I know you understand it's hard to pick against Carthage. As for TX High we'll see.

I don’t believe more than 7 points per game have been scored against LJ’s Defense FOR THE LAST 6 WEEKS.

Apparently both Alabama and Ohio State think the Lucas Lovejoy linebacker is good enough to play since both have offered.   He's committed to Ohio State, I understand.
