Gilmer gets carried away thinking they’re better than they really are. Good team but Carthage is on a different level.

true. The year that Carthage and Henderson both won state was such an awesome year. I will never forget how bent out of shape the DFW media was that East Texas owned that classification. Good times!

Edwards carried them yesterday and that’s why I say I would rather Jett beat us with his arm which could happen rather than let Edwards gash us because you gotta choose one lol. If you sit back and try to stop both then it ain’t happening Surratt will pick you apart.

He threw ball very well yesterday, our receivers dropped many passes right in their hands.
Gilmer will have a very hard time getting to the outside with the Dawg front seven.

Naw sir you’re blind to think this Carthage team is dominant on all levels like yrs past these guys are young and talented but they aren’t the same. I still think Carthage win this game but if Gilmer come in with the right game plan they can make it competitive and have a chance to pull of the upset.

P G dominated Gilmer. The Dawgs front seven is better than PG.

PG scored 3 points in the second half after Preston made his adjustments.
I believe Gilmer has earned their spot in the quarterfinals but they will be a heavy underdog.

C&C - the score of the Gilmer Vs PG game doesn’t tell the full story.  Go watch it.  Tennison got hurt, backup QB was not ready for that stage, Gilmer made a TON of mistakes, the wheels came off, and PG put it away.  Gilmer has improved tremendously since that game on both sides of the ball.  I think Carthage will win next week, but I’m expecting a 45-24 type game.

The winner of this game will meet the winner of the Glen Rose-Canyon West Plains game. Canyon is more than 500 miles from either Carthage or Gilmer.

Where would that semifinal game be played if Canyon West Plains wins Region 1?  Wichita Falls?

My guess is The Star in Frisco or Denton.  Hopefully all 4 coaches agree on The Star and get it locked down about Monday.

I can only imagine how DCTC was losing their mind. Without their ability to pander to metro and inner city teams I can’t imagine what they did.

Abilene maybe or Waco would be a guess.

Just can’t see how Gilmer can wins this unless they’ve been holding back some lineman that are going D1.  Gilmer line play is just average. That’s the key to the game. They’ll score some points and their D has improved but I see something like carthage 45 Gilmer 24

They have to play above their norm and capitalize on Carthage’s mistakes. Problem is they’re fundamentally sound and play with discipline.

If Carthage is 1 of the 2 teams playing at The Star, look for an agonizingly close game. That seems to be the only type of game CHS plays there.
