I think the ACC and Big 12 are pretty equal.

You may actually be on to something. I actually give the Big 12 the upper hand, but it's a little closer than I anticipated. The bottom of the Big 12 is pretty rough. I still feel like the Big 12 has 5 of the 8 better teams in each conference, if not 6.

Yeah but you can be a 4th seed and get in the playoffs here. You don't have to win district. 1st place seeds get knocked out all the time because they play in weak districts. ACC is weak. It's the weakest P5 this season by a margin.

Yeah keep believing that, considering they beat the SEC more times this year.

And the Big 12 also had a winning record against the SEC.....but to you that doesn't matter, because you seem to think that the ACC is weak, tell that to all the schools that lost to them......SMH

Did they beat Alabama or Georgia? We claim FSU's credible win is LSU, well LSU isn't even the best team in the SEC, not even top 4. The ACC went 6-4 against the SEC, with 5 of those wins coming from bottom feeders this season. The combined record of those 5 teams was 26-34. FSU beat the 5th best team in the conference and that's supposed to be massive.

FSU 45-24 LSU (21)

Bama 42-28 LSU (14)

Team Title Odds
Michigan +170
Alabama +190
Texas +310
Washington +700

Was waiting for some post to finally be about the four that got in instead of the one that did not. I wonder why Washington does not get credit from the odds makers this season. They were the underdogs in both Oregon games and now on the bottom of the teams odd to win the NCCA Championship.

Enough of talking about those 4 teams, now... Florida State...

All 3 teams are playing better than Washington right now.  I don't think the odds are counting them out, I think they are just not in their favor of winning 2 games vs these 4 teams as much as they are for the other 3.

As a Texas fan, I would rather play Bama in the finals - if we beat Washington……..thinking our chances are better against Mich.

Who do Bama fans want in the finals ?

If I was an Alabama fan then I would want a rematch with Texas.

What if Quinn Ewers tears his ACL in the first bowl practice?

Do they sub in Georgia because Texas isn’t the same team they were all season?

Interesting thought to take one step further. Assume Oklahoma is in the final four and Dillon Gabriel enters the transfer portal and leaves the team. Another scenario… USC is in final four and Williams opts out of the bowl games to prepare for the NFL. Ultimately, you have to live by the teams selected.

I can't speak for Caleb Williams, but if Oklahoma was in a meaningful bowl game then Gabriel would be playing.

Congrats to him. Very well deserved.

I heard a stat on the radio that would have made me reconsider my backing for him some.  40% of his touchdowns came against Army, Grambling, and Georgia State.  So I had to go look it up.  Here is the breakdown:

Ga State- 413 passing, 6 TDs, 96 rushing, 2 TDs

Army- 279 passing, 3 TDs, 6 rushing, 1 TD

Grambling- 269 passing, 5 TDs, 29 rushing, 1 TD

Top 3 opponents

Florida State- 346 passing, 1 TD, 64 rushing, 0 TD

Ole Miss- 414 passing, 4 TDs, 99 rushing, 1 TD

Alabama- 219 passing, 2 TD, 163 rushing, 1 TD (shortened by a missed targeting vs Bama LB)

But, then you look at Penix Jr.

He had 4 TDs and 400 vs Tulsa, only 204 and 1 TD vs Washington State, and 275 no TD and 2 INTs vs Arizona State (these are their 3 worst opponents).  Top 3 opponents Oregon Pt 1, 302 and 4 TD, Oregon Pt 2, 319 and 1 TD, and Oregon State 162 and 2 TDs, plus 22 rushing with 1 TD on the ground.

People trying to make their case should see that what happened in the trash games, when compared side by side show that 1 guy dominated like he should have and the other didn't.  Then, when you compare games vs the top opponents, both had great games in 2 of them, but 1 also had a great game with an injury while another was not impressive at all.

Penix is also west coast, less coverage nationally.
