During Yoe's state title spree, seemed like every season our playoff runs ran through Teague, Grandview, and Malakoff. Our playoff game against the Tigers in '15 is a freakin' epic.

Grandview made it to Arlington soon after and Jentsch led them to back-to-back titles. Now Malakoff finally has punched their ticket to Jerryworld. Best of luck next Thursday, Tigers. Coach Fannin has truly turned the Franklin Lions into a machine. Dominating ground game-focused team that had one player score three receiving TDs tonight. And a stifling defense. But you guys proved definitively that you're the team to get the job done this year, if it's to get done.

Thursday at 3p there is going to be one heck of a football game at AT&T Stadium, one of the best that field is going to see all year.

I said this when the playoffs started that Koff would start being the underdog around round 4 and I don't expect that to change. I know a lot of people have in the back of their minds, well Koff won a big game and they gonna fall short the next game. I think we proved that wrong a while ago this season. This is a very different team this year and very focused. I know this week will be even harder but those boys got it in them to give a great game again.

Franklin has a great team again and we gonna have to play mistake free ball on the defensive side.

Koff has played Yoe during there state runs and almost beat them 15' and in 16' we did beat them. Driskell and staff knows what it'll take to try to beat Franklin on their way to try to win a 3 peat. Hopefully we are good enough to help bring a end to that.

Let's hope a great game and enjoy this week for both sides.

Not a bad game either, but the '15 game featured a 25 point comeback and a batted-down last-second 2 pt conversion by a star RB to save the win.

If only we had made those extra point kicks. That hurt us in that game.

Well here we are. What every team dreamed of from day one of two a days, to play for a State Championship. Last night was a game for the ages and we can't afford to slow down long enough to catch our breath.

I am sure some will say the Tigers may come into this with a hangover after such a dramatic game and others will say we only got here by luck and that is OK.

Franklin has a great program and is the favorite going in and rightfully so. We will need the best game of these young men's lives and yes....a little luck  on Thursday to change that.

I expect this to be another great battle. I am picking my Tigers of course and will have my score prediction next week.

Only thing in common is running the ball. It's a totally different offense.

no it is not man I usually agree with you on a lot of stuff but you are not right......I ran the wing T/slot T in high school against Franklin an fannin may run a different version of the wing t/slot t but in principle it is the same offense just ask him.

lineman still block down and guards pull. Ive even seen teams pull the center and we did to mix it up.

Yall run traps and what we called r jack and L jack

Still run the boots and wiggles with lowery

the arrow and zorro with the z back getting sweeps.

cross blocks ect.

So it may not be your fathers fathers wing t/slot t/ veer but the foundation of Franlins offense is much so

Franklin, without a doubt, will be the fresher team. They had backups playing right before halftime.

Malakoff had to fire a bullet against Brock to punch their ticket to the state game.

Pulling for Malakoff, but I believe Franklin gets the 3-peat.

Interesting note: Region 3 has played for the state championship 8 years in a row. They've won 6 of the 8 title games.

The very first play against edna is what we called L Jack

you center went next level bc he had no one in front of him both guards pulled your left tackle blocked down your back side tackle you pulled over your right tackle to get that down block on that end. your TE 3 went next level bc you do not block back side. your z back blocked foward and lowery faked the trap to the B back and handed off to jackson your A back on that play.

Classic wing t

Your second play is what we called Belly the only difference in this play is you motion the z back to the run side and what we did is the z back would already be on the run side and go second level on his down block.

Center tackle tight end block down and guard pulls and kicks out end and jackson who moved to B back get ball and goes off guard hole and the A back is like a full back going first ad getting line backer.

So different version but same principles just doing some different wrinkles

4th play fake punt

5th play classic left over left toss sweep to the B back instead of the A back but that is bc your wrinkle is yall motion the A back to get the extra blocker which is smart.

6th play is fake trap wham what we called it more of a tradition man block

7th play double wing arrow or zorro depending on who you are callin z back and A back sweep to the right what we did was speed sweep in that formation and the z back comes in front of the b back and fake trap after but yall do it just a tad different.

just some different styles but again same offense just different wrinkles. You can call it the Franklin way if you like
