so many schools growing into that 5A up from 4A and several new schools opening in the next 2-3 yrs in that big 5A small 6A size.  the UIL needs to get off their butts and come up with a 7A plan even if they have to stop awarding 29 state football champions. The gaps per class are too big.

Who is “we”? Just wondering who is sitting at 263?

If the cutoff number doesn’t change or drop from last realignment, EF will drop to 2A

Any truth to the notion that Gilmer is probably moving up to 4AD1 and Lindale is growing so fast they'll be back in 5AD2?  Any other 4A/5A movements being rumored

I doubt it. They'd have to lower the cutoff number. Latest enrollment at GHS was reported to be 865. The cutoff number from last time was 879. These numbers usually move up.

Lindale is in DCTF 10 most likely to move up list. But that’s if numbers don’t move up by UIL if I’m not mistaken.

The range from the last reclassification were insane, specifically 5A D2 the numbers are crazy compared to the others.

Probably needs to be some shift in 5A and 4A if possible. You point out 5ADII but 4A as a whole is kind of ridiculous. The two other largest gaps while containing less kids (huge percentage gap). Non Football is worse.  The low end could play someone with nearly triple the student population in district.

Think about it: How many teams should actually be in a 7A conference? If that number is only 40-50, then it really only solves a problem for 6A, right? It doesn’t really solve a problem for the lower classifications, does it? For instance, Duncanville and North Shore are automatically 7A, but that only helps out the other 6A/D1 schools by moving them along. I guess the chain reaction does help, but how much?

When 7A happens probably gonna have to get rid of the two state champions per division stuff or do districts of 5 to 6 teams... 4 make playoffs top two biggest go big bracket smallest two go small bracket.  I thing that would cut play off rounds from 6 to 5 but still give two champs per classification.
