Watched a lot of film. He's physically gifted, but doesn't have much of a motor to me. I think he's good, but a lot of that rating is on size.

When he gets after it, he is really good……but I watched a few plays from a playoff game 2-3 weeks ago where one play he was double teamed(tackle maybe 240 and TE around 200) push him at least 8 yards down field - went out of camera range……..so, I agree with you.

The reason @89Falcon is so jacked up is this is the first time since the 50’s or something that Bellville has made it to the state championship game.

@89Falcon, we understand the excitement and how when you’re doing something for the first time it’s hard to be objective.

In 2008, we Bulldog fans were similar, but we had Dwight Smith & Co.  We won when no one outside of Carthage (at least no one DFW) thought we could. Celina’s dynasty basically came to an end when we beat them in the state championship game.

We’ll see how y’all do and I don’t wish you any ill will.  I am pulling for Gilmer, but if Bellville wins we’ll congratulate y’all.

I keep seeing this offense called the Wing T by posters. The teams being mentioned in this thread, Liberty Hill and Bellville, call it the Slot T.

I am guessing they know what to call what they're running. Can anybody tell me the difference between the Wing T and Slot T?

Gilmer survived Carthage.  That is enough to make them the favorite.  Gilmers support positions will be good enough to allow their skill positions with their speed to be the difference.  The competition Bellville has played can’t be compared to what Gilmer has done.  Gilmer will get enough stops to win by 14-21.

Just watched the Dave Campbells preview on both 4A championships games. As per usual he’s picking Bellville (whoever’s playing Gilmer) over Gilmer. Same ol story “defense will be the factor on this one”. He’s also picked Anna over Chapel hill on the strength of defense.I guess 79 on Glen Rose(which could’ve been a 100) and 56 on Davenport ain’t enough.  Where’s this guy from?!? If you ain’t Carthage you got no shot of winning against anyone. No one’s given Gilmer a serious chance all year so what else is new. Well we here!!! Just more blackboard material for them Gilmer buckeyes. No disrespect for the Bellville boys just need alittle for them Bux and East Texas.

Gilmer has been the underdog all year. It's fine we get it. Just adds fuel to the fire. These young men are determined to prove everyone wrong. I hope they win and I hope they make a statement. It's been a huge accomplishment just for them to even make it this far. I hope the coaches and players get that hardware and bring it back to G Town.

Yeah, Greg Tepper can be a bit annoying. Especially when he says Bellville Bray-Ma's......... I think he's a Midwesterner transplant that lives in either Austin or DFW.

That being said, Bellville should be the favorite. They have the record/stats/players/wins to earn that. And the offense they play almost always gives Gilmer teams headaches.

We will see if the Gilmer coaches can come up with a great game plan/scheme for the third week in a row, pull off yet another upset, and finally bring home another State Championship for the Buckeyes.

The 🤡 that keep using "Gilmer's D" against then hasn't watched a Buckeye playoff game; that defense has been playing REALLY WELL since playoffs started and taken it to another level, so it's not all track meet scores like we saw in beginning of year. #bEASTtX

Excellent observation. Gilmer defense has definitely "taken it to another level", only given up 37 points per game in the playoffs.
