Navasota Open

I believe he retired more than one calendar year ago, so if he’s not been employed by someone paying into TRS, then he’d be good to go.

I’m sure NISD could afford the 14% hickey for the retire/rehire.

 Any other names floating around?

Rumor is Rhoades has mentioned adding Navasota to Yoe's pre-district schedule. Be funny, considering Fedora was one of the coaches "rumored" to have interviewed for the Yoe job after he left...

Any news on this job yet?

Second round is next week...I think Fedora is a long shot because of the timing of when his paperwork was filed..I know one 6A HC is in on it

Why would a 6A head coach go after a 4A head job? Is he in a bad spot?

Could be from the area and wants to get closer to home, could want to work in a one-school ISD, lots of reasons a 6A coach would want to take a 4A job

Is the job an AD/HC position?  If so that an incentive to interview if you’re at a district with an AD that you may not get along with your coaching philosophy.  On the other hand it maybe an AD in place that you have past history or a friendship.
Navasota should be on their way back to content.   Navasota’s under classes has some talent coming up.
There should be an extensive list of candidates

Good classes coming 7th - 10th.  It's just a matter of getting kids to buy in.  Navasota is not a super easy place to coach even though they usually have good athletes.

I believe it is AD/HC.

That's what I've heard too.

So let me ask you this: If Fedora can't take another job until a year after he walked out the door at A&M Console, why is he talking to anybody?

I think there are loop holes.

Navasota could hire him as a "consultant" until the 365 days are up then his contract as AD/HFC could commence at that point.

But, that would mean in the meantime they would have to find someone willing to be a lame duck coach...

It's my understanding that Coach Fedora can not work for any ISD as a retire/rehire until July 1....he can work part-time but there are VERY strict rules on how many hrs he can work per week and if you go over that it can impact your retirement payouts....to be clear even though his name has been thrown around for this job I dont believe he has even officially applied for the position

One of his hand picked Coordinators acts as the interim, pretty simple solution, if you ask me.

Exactly. Set the structure, let Fedora play architect while his coordinators run the show. Do not announce a hire until 7/1 and then the hire announced is Fedora. Simple solution for a simple problem.

Maybe if Fedora does not fill Navasota vacancy -----he will take a quick glance at the Yoe HC/AD vacancy. Rebuild from the ground floor. If he has some time on his hands.

I wasn't going to say anything about this because my sources intimated that Coach Rhoades had only told his staff and the boosters, and the feeling was that he didn't want it public until March.

But... This isn't the first social media platform I've seen it mentioned, so... Typical Cameron.

have heard that a couple members of the board/boosters have mentioned an interest in contacting Fedora and seeing if he has any interest...

So, might as well get into it. No one wants to admit that Fedora was one of the applicants for the job the last time Rhoades left. So let's say hypothetically he was - Would he even be willing to talk to CISD after being turned down last time? Maybe, if they approached it the right way.

But first, I believe Jack Rhoades is the primary candidate, if he's interested in staying...

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens when they post the vacancy. I believe it is a wide open search. Anything is possible in Cameron within the hiring process. The retirement is all over Rockdale  KRXT radio station, so that blew the keep  it low key  until March. Cameron fans tell it like they would be shocked if Jack Rhoades gets the job. I believe Yoe is looking to clean house somewhat. If Rhoades stays in the field house until  the end of February it may be a late posting for vacancy.
