Ricklan Holmes to Saginaw Chisholm Trail

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Coach Holmes. I know he wanted to be a head coach again. Man that's a total rebuild. I hope he can put together a great staff to help him turn that program around.

Wow he is going to have a massive job turning that program around. The lost to West Mesquite 45-6. That district is also adding a new high school which should drop them to 5A D1 which should help. Right now the program is in the dumps.

I’m not saying this is the case here…. But maybe going somewhere with very little expectation to win is the best place to build a program.

Oftentimes coaches aren’t given enough time to turn a situation around. They get shown the door too quickly.

Some places have unrealistic expectations that simply cannot be met.

But sometimes you have a place that has no pressure to win quickly.  Build a winner from the ground up.  Seems like that could be a coach’s dream situation given they are given patience to do it.

What your are saying sounds great. Given the world we live in. I doubt it would actually happen that way. Everything is microwave now. Heat up and go.

He'll certainly have some work to do. Don't think they've won more than 4 games in a season in their existence...and there doesn't appear to be much talent.

Maybe his D1 son comes down from Oklahoma and helps the team a little.

In my experience, D1 kids tend to help football programs out. the more the merrier I always say.

They will see him as a good coach because of success that he had at John Tyler/Tyler high.
