We gave little to no resistance in trying to sway or keep Davis....essentially giving him away. LSU made him one of the highest paid non coordinator coaches in the nation, we did nothing to up his salary or give him incentive to stay. Not to mention he simply wanted to go home. Sark, as a friend, understood that and pretty much helped him pack. We let him walk. Nothing wrong with it in itself but there are ramifications to losing a position coach/recruiter like Davis.
JustAFan11 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I’ve stopped following recruiting. No real reason why just have less time. From previous years it seems like Sark doesn’t recruit well in the summer, but he has finished very nicely. He’s got a good team this season so if they perform to expectations then recruiting will work itself out.

He went back to his alma mater. It is as simple as that. 2

Catch me on signing day and even then, said player must be kept happy financially. If not, portal szn. Even if they are a star on the team.

He’s proven to be a great run stopping coach but his guys have lacked in the pass rush dept. that and being a ok recruiter doesn’t warrant a salary north of $1.2million
Baron Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 DL Josiah Sharma flips his commitment from Oregon to Texas. Did Texas up their NIL? 1

And we already know his issues at USC. 1

I don’t know about his wife but evidence is there. I sincerely hope he hasn’t but alcoholics have done this before! This could be a distraction but Texas potentially could be very dangerous this year. The schedule is daunting and they have their tough games at home. Michigan replaces a lot but still has a very strong defense. I give the edge to Texas .

Not really but he was a proven liar and totally not worth his word! You can’t dispute this! It might work out it did for Saban lol! However, I bet it doesn’t to the magnitude you are expecting!

The expectations go Texas baseball ARE high. They fired Pierce and he made it to Omaha 3 times in 8 years. the funny part of the whole matter is…. How Aggies are downplaying him being a good coach to take away from the fact that the team that gets so far under you skin took him right out from under your nose. Like his faults weren’t there when your athletic dept hired him???

I expect Texas to be a consistent contender. I don’t care because right now A&M is in better position right now and led by a guy who got some integrity to lead. I don’t care that he left but the way he left was horrible!
