Shake your head now @Lobo97, you will find out down the road .....

I shake my head because you clearly don't understand how RB rankings work.

Just going back to 2020, do you know how many times there's been more than 1 5* RB in the country? Once. That was in 2020. That means that MOST of the RB's that go on to the NFL are NOT 5* RB's.

Roschon Johnson was the 10th rated RB in his class.

Jonathan Brooks was the 16th ranked RB in his class.

CJ Baxter, who you don't think that highly of as it is, was the #1 ranked RB (and 5*) in his class.

Yep, a common misunderstanding is that five-star ratings are just the cream of the particular crop for that recruiting year, but it's actually even more selective. As you said, it's exceedingly rare to have more than one five-star RB in a recruiting year, and recruiting four-star RBs is hardly a consolation prize. Plenty of four-stars become elite college RBs, and many make it to the next level.

Also...  in the pre-NIL era it was far easier for two or three programs to stack five-stars. All you needed was a big enough Brinks truck. But it's going to become far more nuanced now.

It's not enough for a coach to coast on his rep, the top-elite recruits are looking at how many guys he's sent to the League. It's not just how prolific a school's system might be, but how many touches the RB will get in that system. It's not as simple as just buying BMWs for the recruit's momma but are there NIL opportunities at top-shelf dealerships?

The idea that Sark needs to just "focus on five star RBs" is hopelessly naive and outdated. The bygone practice of just money-whipping and stacking five-stars year after year is obsolete. It's going to take a complete recruiting apparatus that exists above and beyond any single coach.

My point is Sark needs to upgrade the RB position, especially since they are so injury prone ... go after the best available whether that's a 5* or 4* ... you are right about one thing, I don't have a lot of confidence in what's now on the roster .... I hope they prove me wrong .... but offensively I believe at the skilled positons that's our biggest need ...... I think the QB and WR positions are solid ....

He does, lol.

Current Roster:

CJ Baxter - #1 RB in his class

Tre Wisner - #30 RB in the same class (4*)

Jaydon Blue - #11 RB in his class

Jerrick Gibson - #7 RB in his class

Christian Clark - #21 RB in the same class

2025: Currently have the #6 and #24 RB's committed

Then you look at the success Texas has had at the RB position going back several years...but for giggles, let's just focus on the Sark years....and I'd say he, Sark, has done a great job recruiting RB's.

Not sure what else you want. Injuries happen.

Not every recruit turns into solid gold anyway; Hell, I'd take the whatever stR recruits that end up like Malcolm Brown or D'Onta Foreman (obv would also take the Ricky Williams, Bijan's, Cedric Benson's, Jamaal Charles) of the world too ;)

Definitely a great class. Now if he can get one or two more top DT's and LB's, it will be a stellar class.

Jackson Blackwell DL 6'2.5" 305 from Lorena and a Baylor commit is visiting for tomorrow's game.

I’m hoping they get the kid currently committed to FSU, Myron Charles, to flip.

Gerry Hamilton says he still answers when Texas calls. So there's that.

CSU is an air read team with a WR that many say could be a day 2 pick, but it feels they are just contempt to call run plays, milk the clock down and get out.  They have 25 yards passing at half.
