A&M could lose this and every other “toss up” on the schedule and still likely end up 7-5 or better. I think honestly A&M is in a weird spot. The roster is talented in some areas that make you think they can win now, but very questionable in others. The problem will be that in two years the bulk of most of the perceived talent is gone and it will be mostly whatever elko can bring in. One of those rare cases where honestly the cupboard may have more in it now that it does in year 3 which is the opposite of nearly every coaching change. Bussey may or may not transfer, but it’s comical to me some of yall that are already talking about it, 2 games into his career. Borderline 5* QB and really good CB haul (a few I wish Texas had). I think the lowest rated DT Sims is better than the others (Sanders overrated IMO). OL is a lot about development, which Jimbo/Addazio failed miserably at with high rated guys. It may take some time and showing on the field to reel in big time WR's. Might not finish top 5 or anything but if you hold on to everyone you have and then snag a couple of portal WRs and an OT I think it’s a great first start. Elko will be fielding some salty defenses with that secondary. I very much agree that the offense will need to show something to get some WRs to come in. I’m hoping they flash enough that the can bring in a couple of portal guys at WR and OT.
