Stoney
What a game!! I'm gonna try and get my heart rate down enough to try to sleep. The difference in this staff and the previous is night and day. Adam Cushing needs the Broyles Award ASAP. LSU was giving A&M the run and they had the guts to make the change to Reed and take advantage of it. 7-1 and 5-0....who would have thunk it.

The reason it was even brought up was because Shamar Turner was one of the ones involved and when he got the flag for the headbutt thing it was shown. I mean it was bad optics, but it’s stuff that happens all the time and it’s never talked about. Lmao whatever. They can spare me the righteous indignation. Heck of a win. Was there and it was electric.

I could tell on the broadcast about the time Reed came in that place was on a different level. For all his talk about it not being that loud, Nuss played like a dude rattled beyond comprehension in that second half. Yes Reed played well, but Nuss loss that game with his decisions. Kelly got rattled too. There were a few false starts/timeouts they had to call. Was a fantastic night. Herbstriet even said “Give me a receiver that blocks like that all day” regarding Walker. Football is an emotional game. Some pushing and shoving in a rivalry game is normal. That “headbutt” was so tame and the QB flopped Edited October 27 by JohnnyFootball

That “headbutt” was so tame and the QB flopped I could not believe they called that targeting. I understand that by definition of the rule it is, but if you start calling blocks like that targeting, every single pulling guard and TE will be ejected by halftime. But that block is who A&M is right now. They are a physical team on both sides that will fight for you what they want. This game reminded me of what lsu use to do to A&M under Sumlin. A&M might explode for a few plays here and there and get a lead, but lsu was going to just physically punish you to death on both sides until you made mistakes and their running game broke you. A&M just kept crashing the pocket until they finally started getting Nuss uncomfortable and then they made him pay for it. They kept running the ball (even bringing in a running QB) until they were able to break LSU in the 4th.
Lion7000
Two decent road sec games left a tune up game, and monster game at home left @ South Carolina next week @ Auburn vs Horns Reed provides the spark but realistically going forward I think you gotta see more. CW seems to force some and inconsistent. Good talent but Reed provides a different element. This coaching staff has improved tremendously. As for Lsu they basically have a chance to redeem themselves against Alabama. I could see a chance where A&M , Georgia, Texas , bama/lsu winner and maybe Tennessee getting into a playoff. I believe Tennessee misses out by losing to Vandy! Anyways Two more difficult games combined with a Sec road auburn!
Lion7000
This is the Aggie team I always knew they had the potential! Consistency is changing the perception! They can’t afford to take any one lightly especially South Carolina at their house!

JustAFan11
Kudos to Elko for making the QB switch, it was what won the game. LSU obviously did not prepare for Reed at all. Do you Aggies think Weigman remains the starter or is Reed the guy moving forward? Last night the switch worked to perfection because the two are so different but I don’t think you get the same outcome if Reed starts and Weigman has to come on in relief. Switching was what caught LSU and Florida before them off guard. And switching to Weigman against Mizzou caught them off guard. If a team is ready for either of them, we have struggled. I think we have a mix of the two moving forward. Klein did that at KSU with the rotating QBs. I could see a similar situation.

I think this is ultimately Reeds team moving forward, but I can definitely see scenarios where Weigman gets the start next week and Reed is used as a package guy. Lion7000
I am glad A&M has a better coach because @ South Carolina is a typical trap game! There defense is really good and they’re five points from being 7-1 and in the top ten themselves! Not a team you take lightly!

Make them have to throw the ball and they are not very good. I also wouldn't suggest spotting them a 21 point lead 4 minutes into the game from turnovers. 1

Their offense is not good but they have some elite edge rushers and the Beamer family has always done special teams right. This isn’t even a trap game. South Carolina is very good. They should’ve beaten Bama and LSU. They also have an off week. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they beat us this weekend.

ETXfan16
I feel like South Carolina is due for a big win. They've been close with LSU and Bama. Coming off the bye, I like South Carolina in this game. It'll be which defense folds.

The winner of this game could score 13 and it wouldn’t surprise me. South Carolina is one of the is in the bottom 10 in sacks and tackle for losses allowed. A&M is one of the better teams in this area. If A&M doesn’t miss a ton of tackles, I could see South Carolina being put in 3rd and longs all night and struggling to get to double digits on the scoreboard. A&M on the other hand should find a little more success offensively. South Carolina is second worst in the conference in yards per rush allowed to QBs. Reed could give A&M enough to outscore South Carolina in a defensive game.

But ranked 16th nationally in total rush yards allowed per game at 101.9, Reed may have to throw much more often than he used to.
