Hire a coach that current players can see the vision of AND the history behind. As you said in a year or two what if they’re a .500 program? It might be good enough to make the regionals but that’s not the standard you guys want. Your AD botched the entire Schlossnagle and rehire. You got a coach that’s got your baseball program where you wanted it, give him what he wants and he doesn’t look around. I am not using any authority in saying that’s it’s too early to tell if early was/is a good hire. You very well could be right one day, but you’re not at the moment. Thats all I’m saying is let the hire play out. I disagree that this was just about giving Schloss what he wanted and he stays. He had decided to leave long before the day after the title game. He wasn’t going to stay no matter what was offered. But him crying and leaving when he already got approval for the stadium renovation is extreme. You can come beat your drum in a year or two if the hire fails, but as of right now all Early has done is recruit well in transfers and bringing back guys. This could have been a drastic situation setting the program back a few years minimum, yet the will arguably be the preseason favorite for next season. I think 9-3 is very realistic. The fortunate thing for A&M, all 3 of their likely losses are at home. Pull an upset in any of those, and you’ve got a very good season, and likely playoff.
