It was a busy 3 days in San Antonio for the band competition, so I apologize for not updating you.

I'm sure you saw that Aledo finished 5th in the 5A State Marching contest.  That was their best finish in the 50 years of the band program.  Those band kids literally left it all on the field and had a legitimate chance to win it.

Aledo's region looks like it will get really interesting around the Regional Semis.  What do you guys think?

I think its going to be Aledo/Tascosa and Richland/Ryan in the 3rd round. Aledo should roll then a rematch with Ryan most likely. Then I have Highland Park in the 5th and Pflugerville Weiss at State. On the 5A site there is a bracket challenge.

Abilene in 2nd round will be interesting..thinking rematch with Ryan for the region, one of the 2 frisco teams in the semis, and I’m going with pieper in the finale.

Game 2 of the playoffs, vs Abilene, oddly being played in Mansfield..I expect a competitive game, with mucho respect for the Warbirds!

To put the capacity of the playoff stadium in perspective..the Aledo middle school stadium capacity is only 200 less.

Y'all must have the largest middle school stadium in Texas? That's pretty big for a middle school stadium.

It used to be the high school stadium, when the old high school was there. It is now used by both middle schools, and a Christian school that plays 6-man football there.

Ok. I was thinking damn, they get that many people for a middle school game.

We were packed in there so tight.  It freaking sucked.  No cell service.  The guest WiFi didn't work.  3 hours away...  I don't know why Sweetwater wasn't considered for this game.
