How’s the OL and DL?  That’s where games are won in the playoffs.

They will be decent we have a Sophomores on the DL that’s a stud 2d1 offers, JV finished undefeated last year most of those guys will be on Varsity..

Tatum will have a freshman on the DL that probably already has 20+ D1 offers. 👀

Apparently Queen City flipped our girls for home/home and lost the toss. Lady Eagles get to play their Regional Quarter-Final in front of a home around at Eagle Coliseum.

Could play in the parking lot and it probably wouldnt matter

We have a solid JV moving up as well.   The majority of our varsity were sophomores last season so I look for a good bit of improvement.

Cute lol. But I wouldn't be shocked if he has 20+ offers before his career is over. Kid squatted more in 7th grade than most seniors lol. 475 then, not sure how much in 8th grade. Tolbert's gonna be a problem.

You know I’m just messing. That kid was a fun to watch even though it was a long night for us.

Looking forward to watching a very competitive district race next fall.  Should be fun for us fans. Here are some thoughts after realignment

Atlanta - I think this will be Coach Morton's best team. Not sure what he was thinking when he scheduled PG but I do think they will be improved.  Batton, Harrison, and Riley are all explosive players but I think the key for the rabbits is improving the OL play.  If I remember correctly the OL was young last year. Defensively, I'm sure they will be fast but they got pushed around a lot last year.  To me, making the playoffs and having a successful season will be determined by how well the OL and defense play

Tatum - I think they were hit hardest by graduation but I think Keeling and staff are top notch so they will come up with a plan.  Particularly on defense, I think they got better throughout the year.  I anticipate Keeling putting the Gun that he utilized with Watson last year back on the shelf and going straight flexbone.  Bradley, Sigler, Moore, and Cayden Tatum will step up for the eagles.  To me, the biggest question is whether Bradley can throw well enough to keep the defense honest.

Jefferson - If the bulldogs will buy into Coach Taylor I think they have the potential to take the next step. Kam, Taylor, and Love are 3 potent weapons along with others. If the jeffy OL can be as good or better than last year I think they could be in the hunt for the DC.  I think Coach Taylor will have a big impact on the defense.

Sabine - I think Coach Gilbert and staff get the most out of their kids.  They were right on the cusp of making the playoffs last year and if it is going to happen in this district then this has to be the year, imo.  They have a strong senior class but as @Bclove05 points out they just lack speed.  I think they will miss silvertooth in the run game but they have the best up tempo offense in the district, imo.  If they can find a running back and tackle well enough I think they have a chance to make the playoffs.  They just have such a small margin for error on defense with their lack of speed.

Gladewater - Of all the district teams, I think the bears will show the most improvement over last year.  They were just so young (I know others were young also) yet seemed to find a better groove on offense last year with the different packages they ran.  IMO, Woods and Cooper will be dynamic offensive players and the QB can throw the ball decently.  I'm interested to see how they do in 7v7 this summer.  I think they will be better on defense as well.  The bears are my darkhorse for the DC.

LE - I just don't know much about them besides their athleticism and dropping down in classifications.  I do think Coach Willard will be a good hire and they uphold the district tradition of the new coach bringing in a QB by hire.  My all indications LE should be in the hunt for the DC but I'm not ready to roll out the red carpet just yet.

White Oak - The Roughnecks have to be improved, right?  I know coach Ludlow touted their youth all last year and he got to schedule non-district teams that he believes they can beat.  He has had a chance now to implement his program so all the rope that is usually extended to a first year coach has been used up.  From all indications, last year's team was the worst in school history so surely there will be improvement.

Those are my sunday morning thoughts (as if any of you care!) so time to get ready for a great worship service at Mobberly Baptist church. Come out and join us.

We have a kid who will be a junior that you’ll enjoy the next 2 seasons. He’s going to be a problem.
