hoopscoach17 Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Highland Park will totally dominate this district!! After that, Tyler and Lufkin have a great shot of making the play-offs!!

When they don’t play at home they get penalized more then at home 1

cujoforlife Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 Joshua opting up is the shocking thing for me. Now I have to look up where they are.

thepit73 Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Red Oak is on the rise with their coach now. I see them battling for 2-4 seed as Lufkin will do.
PackAttack Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 (edited) Sorry, Lufkin really got screwed in this deal for the 200 mile plus mile travel trips in 7-5A DI, when they could have easily placed Lufkin South in district 9-5A DI or 11-5A DI, and traveled just 90-130 miles instead. Not great for Tyler either, but they are much closer to DFW than Lufkin, and Cleburne, Joshua and Burleson are all directly South of Ft Worth. No where close to Lufkin, anyone checked a map on that one?, someone at the UIL has a misconception of time and space between Lufkin and those schools. You can bet your bottom dollar too, that HP, Cleburne, Joshua and Burleson, even Midlothian, don't want to travel to Lufkin to play. Edited February 1, 2024 by PackAttack 4

I don’t think it is right to take tyler away from Mesquite seeing that they are right up the street. I can see that there will be no fans at most of these games. There will be no football atmosphere at all. 1

I get West Texas travel and all that jazz but dang!
WolverBean Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 So Tyler high and lufkin lose Longview from district but gain highland Park

You guys get to play DeSoto in first couple of rounds, no cake walk either.! Edited February 2, 2024 by PackAttack

I saw that you wrote that on the Lufkin website.

If the coaches can come to an agreement there's plenty of pitstops in between to make use of some decent stadiums.
PackAttack Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 (edited) Glad to see this news from Matt Stepp. Hope they can work out something respectable, even 11-5A DI looks like a possibility if they move Crosby from 11-5A DI in with their rival Barbers Hill in 9-5A DI. Then Lufkin could possibly move into 11-5A DI. Don't care which district, either one will do over driving my life away going North. Edited February 2, 2024 by PackAttack
