First round playoff games just got much tougher for ETX 5A. 

Tough to believe those schools are in region 2 instead of 3 like they always have been.  Esp when you have a district adjacent to us (Corsicana, Greenville, Ennis, etc).

First round playoff games just got much tougher for ETX 5A. 

Tough to believe those schools are in region 2 instead of 3 like they always have been.  Esp when you have a district adjacent to us (Corsicana, Greenville, Ennis, etc).

Texas High to Jacksonville is a pretty long trek.  MP to Jax too.

I’ve seen.  It’s crazy. And worthy of an appeal. 

But Etx Div II is definitely spread out too. 

Texarkana to Nacogdoches and Marshall to Jacksonville is a huge swath of area.

Why is Lufkin football in Division 1   and its VB team in Division 2.

This is 100% as expected, JAX swaps districts with PT. The only thing REALLY different for us is we are also with T-High in all the other sports. 2 hours, 30 minutes, one way on a Tuesday night. Ugh. 

Lufkin's island of existence continues. Wow. Can't believe the UIL did that to them. They'll need to amend their budget just to pay for the gas.

Not sure where you could move them other than district 9 and that would have them going to Angleton, Port Arthur and Galveston so either way its close to 3 hours depending on traffic.

Football is the only one divided into D1 and D2. Secondary sports are a single classification.

Secondary sports were close to this in 2018-2020, with MP, TH, SS, Lindale and Greenville in a separate district with Royce City

So spring sports just play each other once? That’s 8 games for district? There’s no 16 game district slates, no way!

Really surprised to see those Southeast Texas teams in Region 2, as District 8.   It will be really important for my T-High Tigers to win  District 7 and get to play that first playoff game at home and force the opponent to make a 5 or 6 hour drive up through the Piney Woods.

Competitive district. You gotta think the Texas, Marshall , & Whitehouse look to challenge for the Title. Nac, Hallsville, Mount pleasant trying for that last playoff spot. Poor Jacksonville. Winless is a real possibility again.

15 is less than 16, I know……but some districts of 6 teams have been known to play 3 rounds for 15 games.

I remember when I was in high school playing it happened to us. We played Marshall in 05 and realignment happened and we had to go to Marshall again the following year for the infamous game in which our coaches celebrated harder than we did after we won lol.
